What do you think about carrying lunch box to work?

These days, lunches are also becoming more problematic, especially for salaried workers. The variety and quality of food seem to be declining, even as the restaurants themselves become more crowded and expensive. It is more practical if you will bring a lunch at work to save money.

Carrying a lunch box to work is an excellent idea! Not only is it more economical than purchasing a lunch, it saves time since you don't have to go out and leaves more time for eating and enjoying your lunch break. Also, when you pack your own lunch you are assured that your food will be healthy.

I think it's a really good idea to take your own lunch. Doing this you can be really sure about the cleanliness and the quality of the food and if you prepare ahead of time, you can have just what you like.
Taking your lunch also saves time because you don't have to queue with other workers to be served. It gives you more time to eat your meal properly instead of rushing.
That said, sometimes it's nice to treat yourself to something a bit different and so buying lunch every now and then can be a real treat.

Hello my friend rodivina89 Ji,
Well, my hubby and our elder son both were fond of carrying their B'fast/Lunch to their duty and school/cllege, but my yoiunger son never did even during school/college days and even after having 16 yrs of service in MNC, never carries, whereas his wife does carry. It is purely individual's liking will and plaesure with lot of pros and cons hidden.
May God bless You and have a great time

In Malaysia salaried workers do not pack lunches from home. There are plenty of good reasonably priced food everywhere. Food is omnipresent. I remembered more than 15 years ago I was sent to my company head-office in Germany and also England. The office workers there packed their lunches form home, even though they have cafeteria at their place of work. They said that they dun like the meals and besides it was expensive. Do you know what they packed for lunch? Everyone packed sandwiches and bread. We in Malaysia have varieties of food in the factory cafeteria and hawker-center and everywhere. It is food galore. Food glorious food. Come to Malaysia to witness yourself.

I haven't worked outside the house for several years because of the fact that I quit working when my son was born so that I could stay at home and raise my children. My son is going to be starting kindergarten tomorrow.
However, when I was working at the last job that I had before my son was born, I took my own food and drink with me to work nearly every single day. The reason that I did this is because of the fact that it was something that was able to save me a lot of time and money.

Cool! But the problem is I don't have time to cook. When I get up, I take a shower and get dressed. I just buy food outside. It's true that the food outside is a bit expensive and not so good. But I have no choice. Yet, I'll try my best to have some time to cook so that I can save a lot.

I am the worst at planning ahead. I normally try to just skip lunch because I spend too much money during the week on eating out for lunch. I would bring food to work, but like I said, I am sooo bad at planning ahead. Normally I just try to wait and eat when I get off work and get home. I do agree with you though, it's soo expensive to go out every day!

I agree. I used to bring lunchbox before when i was working. It can help us save our allowance. Particularly in my case that my fare expense cost much, so i really have to budget my money.

hi,
Its good to carry our own lunch box to the office. By doing so, we get a hygiene and healthy food. More over, we can trust our lunch box on how it is made etc. But this doesnt happen with the food outside. I used to eat in canteen, when i first joined in my work, but later realized ,its not at all hygiene ,so started carrying my own lunch from then onwards.

When I was working and studying I used to bring my our lunch box not because to save money but also to make sure that I am eating healthy foods. For me, it is very convinient to bring my own food because I can eat anywhere and anytime I want. Nowadays we have lots of fast food restaurant but most of them are offering high cholesterol, high sodium and process foods which bad for our help. Better to carry lunch box most of the time to make sure your eating healthy and clean foods.

Definitely bringing a lunch box to work! Saves me money and time.
Though at times, I cant really help but do the "get up-go to work" routine. When lunch break comes, I cross my fingers and hope that the line in wherever I want to eat doesn't go right into the next corner street.

I think you are right! But only if we are talking about a nice decent lunch. Some people just take really weird stuff from home.
If you dont know how to cook.. or have someone to cook for you properly..
Get your lunch at work!

There's nothing wrong about carrying a lunch box to work. Some people are shy to bring theirs so they just eat out and spend much money. For me, it's better to bring my own. For I know that it's clean and I won't ever worry about getting an upset stomach and the like. Happy myLotting!

I used to and often bring lunch at work. The fact that I could save money, it more delicious and tastier than foods that we could buy in canteen or fastfoods. But there are still times that I cant bring lunch due to being late but as much as possible I do bring lunch at work even the left over in dinner.

You are absolutely right, but I am sorry to tell you that carrying lunch box to my work place has always been inconvenient for me.Even as a high school student I never used to carry my lunch box to my school. At lunch time I prefer to take some light foods at the restaurant that does not cost much.In fact,I did not feel much hungry at lunch time. However I take a rich and heavy dinner just at 9.30 at night.

Yes, I was taking lunch to work when I was working. Things are become so expensive and the food of course yes. I can't afford to buy food from outside everyday. It is not healthy as well, so better eat home food at work. Thanks for sharing, have a wonderful day.

I never took a lunch box to school, I can't imagine carrying one to work. I prefer to go out when its lunch break. Can't sit in the office whole day, I need fresh air. Thus, buying lunch while I'm out. But sometimes carrying a lunch box is not a bad idea, especially when you're sick or your mother prepares something for you. You just can't say no to her.
