he is a veteran test player for India.
But he is now aged and he may announce his retirement in this series.
As a senior player, there is nothing surprising that he is included in the team.But he have to perform well otherwise he will also start feeling the heat, because now everyone have to play well to stay in playing eleven.

Yes, there are enough contenders for slot in test middle order now. So, no place is guaranteed. However, I would also like to see how Cheteshwar Pujara fares.

Hello vathsavat17,
Yes Laxman is one of the good batsmen in Test cricket. He has played many of the match winning innings for INDIA but I feel its now the time for him to retire to give away chance to the new players as many of the new players are coming up these days for India.

Hello There,
the present day batsman failing in test cricket.. They should have some legends of test cricket like VVS to learn from... Dont you think so?

Indian youngsters do well in ODI matches. But they are not so good in test cricket. I too think they all must learn from players like VVS Laxman and Rahul Dravid.

Yes, Laxman has been always special, and he is one of the senior players India have. He is a great player, and the next match is on Hyderabad, so he will have all the support from the home crowd...

After Dravid retirement Laxaman is next and also there is no other than these two who can play the test well. There was no other good player who can play the test well as well as they score at good rate and defend the ball and win match for INDIA.
I hope Laxaman will do better and perform well as he fell in previous tours. Also this would be last chance for laxman also if he diddn't perform he will have to go. I hope that will not come.

Hello vathsavat17, indeed VVS Laxman is a very special man. He is good test player. What disappoints me is that, I have heard the news that he is going to retire from the test cricket. I think we are going to miss another great player 
.

V.V.S.Laxman has been instrumental in India getting victories in many test matches against other countries. He has also saved India on some occasions. However, of late, he has not performed well enough in test matches. I feel that he should retire instead of selectors not picking him in the future squad.
However, he might give a superlative performance against the Kiwis this time.

In my opinion selectors have their right choice.V V S Laxman is included in th squad and it's good that selectors are giving importance to both young and experienced players. Also it is not sure that Laxman will retire from the International cricket after this test. It is now common that selectors are giving considerations to them who want to retire nowadays.If Laxman retires from cricket I am sure it will be an another big loss for Indian cricket team.
