Does any one know what the movie "Dream Girls " is about?

Dreamgirls was originally a Broadway musical play that finally became a movie last year; It is loosely based on the Supremes; It has three girls from the Detroit inner city, who enters a talent contest, and encounter a manager who takes them there; Along the way, he rearranges the group, get them from being back up singers for a reigning male singer, and gave them their own arena which made them famous.

It'd based off of the Group Supremes with Diana Ross

All i know is that it is based on the broadway play about three women making it big in showbiz and Beyonce, jamie foxx, and eddie murphy is going to be in it I cant wait to see it
