With the holidays soon approaching it's time to start thinking of this years craft projects. My mind just spins every year with new ideas to create for home decor and gift giving. I always have something in the works wether it's holiday season or not, but Christmas is truly special. Nothing the same every year, always changing things up. Last years decorations will be donated to the Salvation Army after Thanksgiving this year. Of course with the exception of a few special items, I just can't give up. Making ornaments and a new Christmas pillow for the sofa are 2 crafts I do every year. I'm always looking for something new. Do you have any unique or different holiday craft ideas or suggestions?

That's cool that you do that! I used to do so many christmas crafts and I don't know that I could have given them up! But now.. I just don't do much for the holidays as I have no family much around and don't care to do all that work to decorate just for me to see it! But...I am hoping to have a christmas quilt done to use during the season and a set of placemants... often, tho, I plan..(been planning this all year long!) and things just get in the way and I don't get them done! Maybe this year will be different.

I take puzzles that are missing pieces and glue them to a round lid that has a circle cut out in the middle. I then pain the puzzle pieces a ever green color attach tiny red balls for holly and insert a picture in the middle these are talk pieces every year.

I make Origami Xmas ornaments with foil Origami paper. They are really pretty. There are some flat wreaths that you can make to use for ornaments or package decorations at www.origami-resource-center.com/wreath-and-garland.html What I make are 3 dimensional ornaments. I'm trying to find a good site for you because there are so many. Your local library should have books on it. I can't find any of the old sites that I used to go to for stuff. Some of it looks a lot harder than it really is. And some of it is a lot harder than it looks! But if you're crafty I'm sure you can come up with some great stuff. The wreaths are really not very hard. I hope you like them. Have fun! Oh, I forgot -- there are tutorials on youtube and other places, too. And there are Origami pieces on sale at etsy if you just want to look at some.

Wow, if I haven't read your discussion it wouldn't come to me that we only have a month to go before the "BER" months. Honestly, I've been struggling with crafts and I can't seem to do well in any of it. My projects always include the simple ones which I can pull off, as I am really not gifted with much creativity as you guys.
For decorations, I plan to use my old ornaments, the one I bought last year when I first moved in to this apartment. Instead of the tree, I plan to decorate our house plants. You see, I have given away our old tree. I will also put on fairy lights, but my sister have this project back in their office in making miniature Japanese lantern balls using Japanese papers. We might try that here. Also, I will be baking some brownies and banana bread and wrap these in paper bags as Christmas give aways to carolers and the kids who will visit on Christmas day. Hopefully, my cross stitch of roses for my mom and mom in law will be finished just in time for Christmas.

I am always on the look out for new D.I.Y projects, especially as I don't have much money so anything i can re-use and make into something else is great. I have so many things I need to make, it's just getting round it it haha
I think I'm making soda can tab bracelets or something for Christmas this year, because I think they're awesome and I'm going to make some for myself.
