Hi,
Lets see. Me and my friend have been best friend for about a year and a half. We started off as total strangers. When i first met her...i literally did not even bother talking to her. But we had the same interest and we re still total opposites. And then...we slowly became friends. Oh yh...she had a crush on me when she first saw me. I didnt feel anything. So yh...when we became close friends. We both admitted we had feelings for each other. Really close. But we didn't want to risk the friendship. and then we just became BEST friends. But sometimes even today, feelings get in the way. We may be best friends...but we act like GF and BF. So, could we really remain best friends if we felt like this?

Yes, you both can. I also have a close guy friend. We have done many things together, not only talk normally. He calls me "wife" and I call him "husband". But we're still friends until now. So...yeah, you can remain best friends.

Umm...I think this "not only talk normally" can be included into dating.

I was in a familair situation not long ago where we'd started being friends and I was happy with that then feelings started getting in the way, but I was always happy with being friends but all the time she'd get drunk she would confess feelings to me and fry my brain with it all, anyway I came round to the idea and we talked about it and we was going to go out and out of nowhere she started changing her mind all the time, she said yes to me to go out and then told me another guy asked her so she was gonig to date with him.
So basically I got messed around/played and I dont talk to her now so tread carefully, although you two seem like it could work :)

Thanks.
Yeah I think it could work. with her...she gets bored really quickly in relationships. Her longest relationship is only like 2 weeks. And her shortest is a few hours! But she not stupid or anything like that. Very decent girl...well brought up. Just likes to enjoy life and see new things and not get caught up in relationships cuz shes afraid of commitment atm. We're kinda argueing more nowadays as well. Its hard man.

Well just go ahead cautiosuly if she hasnt been in a serious relationship, as for the arguing that could be due to things not happening, a frustration if you will :)

useaname:
welcome to mylot. You cannot remain best friends because you have stated you act like GF and BF. But if any difference of opinion comes early you can get separated as best friends.

Once you cross that line, it's challenging to go back, especially if you both have feelings for one another. It makes matters even more challenging if you're both physically attracted to one another. You need to both sit down and have a real heart to heart about your feelings, because if not, you're going to end up hurting someone in the future.

It is possible. I've been best friends with a girl for years now. We've both decided we're not right as anything else and instead have just stayed best friends.

It would be nice if you could but I sincerely doubt it. I think it can be done but it is a rarity as so many things get in the way. Things like time, other people, serious girlfriends and serious boyfriends, jealousy and envy.
Girls and guys should be able to stay friends and sometimes they can but it gets harder and harder through time. You never know though, you may part for awhile and then somewhere down the road the friendship will pick up again and it will seem like there has been no time between you.
Good luck and enjoy!
