What kind of courses or what specific courses would you like to see started at your local college? It seems there are so many classes available but at the same time there always seems to be one that is missing.
For example there are many english and writing courses available but... I would like to see one taught on writing specifically for the web. How to best incorporate SEO, how to write for the web and how to best utilize your writing ability on the web?
Your thoughts?

I like to see if schools can offer courses like Good Moral Character and Right Conduct--This is due to the fact that most youngsters of today do not know how to say
simple words as:Thank You,Please, and Good Morning,Good Afternoon, and Good Evening.I like also to see if there is a course offered like Proper Etiquette in Handling Umbrella---I have just observed that most people do not know how to properly use the umbrella correctly. There are people when using their umbrellas without knowing that there are people already hurt because they do not know how to elude the encountered persons, they just keep on walking.

What a great response, I had never thought of a course like that. Something like manners 101.
You know a course like that would really help in filling the gaps of what kids have not been taught and how to have better social skills not only in the workplace but in their community as well.
I wonder why it certainly has not been offered because it certainly is needed. Maybe someone will read this and start one. It is such a great idea!

I did not realized I have such a great idea of having such subjects because the moral of most youngsters today are very different from yesterday, and that they even do not know how to say excuse me please, when passing through a group of oldies or just greeting the older persons. This could be a very interesting topic.

That might a could add on class. I imagine there would be a good deal of interest from the students because it is such an interesting topic. I wonder if there are degrees in the subject so qualified teachers could be found.
Thanks for the suggestion!

I go to Cal Poly Pomona, and for English, a "Learn How to Write Comics and Graphic Novels" class (they have one at Cal State San Bernardino), a Publishing class, a professional editing class, an Advance Milton class, Advance Chaucer, a Middle English class, and a Classical Children's Literature class.
My college is fortunate enough to have a Science Fiction class, a Harry Potter Class (this came to our university last year, and I was one of the first students to take it), and we have the general English Classes that are required to receive a degree in English at Cal Poly Pomona.

That is wonderful. I think your school has the right idea on where to go with these classes as it teaches to what their students may be writing to in their careers and expands their horizons on what types of content is out there and what it takes to produce quality content of in that genre.
Most schools I believe are not up to that standard yet and I think it comes down to financial concerns.
Good luck in your endeavors!

We had a lot of great courses when I was in college and I didn't really think that there was anything that was lacking in my education. However, when I look at many of the students today, I do think that one of the most important courses that should be offered, and should also be a manditory course would be effective time management skills. The reason that I believe that this course should be required is because of the fact that many college students do not know how to properly manage their time.

I would like to see courses such as "Starting a Business Plan: From Start to Finish" and then another class called "How to Execute a Business". Most people say the best way to learn about a business is to fail and learn from your mistakes. However, most college courses don't help students critically think about their businesses and help them start one up. I think colleges should help future entrepreneurs start up their business or at least help give them a general idea of how to approach it. I think hands on is the best way to learn and the best use of your time.
