Wedding night

For the bridal couple in India the wedding night cannot be a night to remember for the simple reason, invariably that night is spent at the bridegroom's house where the house would be packed with guests. No doubt a separate room, well decorated, would be provided but the morning after the night before would be the most embarrassing as there would be several 'questioning eyes' on them. I quite like the way how it happens in the West. I am told the couple leaves the celebrations and quietly slips off for their honeymoon. Your views please.

Here in our country, honeymoon is either on the groom or bride's home. Or if they already had their own house- then they can spend the first night in there. But mostly- honeymoon is spent on special reservation such as hotels, resort or any place the couple choose to spend. Honeymoon should always be special for couples who loves each other

hi allK, I think this happened also in middle east I remember a cousin of mine who serve a royalty there told me that after the honeymoon the groom must show the white cloth to prove that her bride is a virgin one to the whole clan. I think this is embarrassing and a nightmare to a girl imagine you will touch by the person who you just know and you left no choice Just an opinion

I have not known of quiet exits. They are usually seen off with rice being thrown over them as they go to the vehicle after the reception. They kind of ride off in to the next day...maybe honeymoon or maybe just a day or so. I think that privacy is best for that night..lol. I think it would be a bit embarrassing the next morning for me if it wasn't but I am used to these ways too.

I remember we spent our night at his sister's as his parents did not live in that town. I could feel the vibes, looking at all those guests that spent that night in that house, the next morning! Next evening we had gone to meet my folks and there again it was the same story! Here in India the first week does not belong to the bridal couple!

Hehehhe...in India most of the marriage ceremony performed at night time. First day marriage and second day after reception enjoy first night. But you are right in our marriage ceremony more guests came and if house is small then problem but most of the persons book the hall or hotel for marriage if house is small.

But there will be house guests and the bridal couple normally spend their night at the bridegroom's house where there will be so many people that they will hardly have any time for themselves.!

I feel it's so interesting. As we know, every country has their special culture, that also shows in their way to celebrate for wedding. But i really like this way, because you can have a happy time with your relatives and friends, then you have the chance to stay alone with your lovers, that's lovely and you can relax from the tire of greeting people.

I think a wedding night is meant for just the newly wedded couple - a night that they would want to remember but in a house packed with guests I doubt if that would be possible.

In Egypt it depends on how the people are educated in lower Egypt it is just like the west but in upper Egypt the groom has to show that his bride is a virgin and in both the family comes the next day.
