I had been here for 3 weeks i think. And im glad im still enjoying it except for the times that i can't think of a new discussion.Haha!
What i do sometimes is to read discussions and made responses. Doing that, something caught my attention, the positive and negative rate to be given by mylot member.
I mean, how do you rate a response or a discussion?
What do you consider? i mean, sometimes i notice some were given negative sign just because they did not agree to the discussion or they are against the idea.
How do you rate members here? Honestly..
I would love to hear your opinions... :)

Hi Debby... Welcome to myLot... The rating is based on how you feel without any personal influence... Follow your heart.. Check the post, the different aspects that it has touched and how properly the topic under discussion is covered...
I give a plus when I feel like doing it. I dont generally give a negative, unless it is a weirdo on myLot... Never give a minus just because you did not agree, that is bad... And also the Admin keeps a watch on these things... Happy myLotting!

Thank u! no don't worry i don't give negative rate just because i don't agree with the topic or with the opinion..
I can't even remember the time i gave negative rate?
Maybe it's when i didn't like "the way" they responded to a topic, or i mean their choices of words for response. Because, for me you can always not agree to a topic, but someone can say it not in a rude or sarcastic way, i think it's really mean. :(

Well.. This is what I wanted to say... There've been one or two instances when a user or two have caused a lot of trouble to myLot and myLotters. At that time I remember doing negative rating... Because whatever that member was doing was total rubbish and irrational... I agree with you... :-)

When it comes to the way that I rate other people on discussions that I have started, I will always give them a positive rating when they have contributed something meaningful and also when the discussion is something that is on topic with the discussion that I have started. However, I will give a negative rating when the response that is given on the discussion has nothing at all to do with the original topic of the discussion. It is actually rare that I will give a negative rating, it is far more common for me to not rate at all.

Personally rating someone here is something that is important. It helps show people what the others here think of them as of how they respond back here or what their quality is of discussions they start. I usually rate all discussions I take time to open up as well as people who post back in discussions that I have started here as well.

I normally give a positive rating. The only thing I can see giving a negative for is basically spam comments that have nothing to do with the discussion.

I'd hope is someone is rating a member then they would rate them on discussion relevance and not rate them on their specific opinion. Aslong as the the member is doing something positive in terms of keep the discussion active and relevant Id rate them higher even if I disagreed with them, afterall thats what we start topics for, to read what other people think.
