Popularity Kill The Real You

I don't mind if some of my friends and relatives that I used to know since my childhood become more popular and make lots of new friendship and relationship with orhers. The only thing that annoy me if they start pretending as they are superstar and want to be get all the attention and priority on everything. Hello, life is not all about you and what you want. I know your past, well I knew you. Some of them were really nice and sweet before they start branding theirself, choose with whom they will hang around or what to wear or where to go, bla bla bla, I will respect and pay attention only to those who really attach to "all equal before God" We were born as human being and die with that identiry as well, popularity won't mean anything if you loose your identity right?

I know exactly what you mean and you make some very good points. I've known a number of what I'd consider great people and good friends, and at a certain age when we all start doing different things some people decide there better, become obsessed with how they look and pose for likes on facebook (which really annoys me). The fact of the matter is that deep down the person will be in there its just how to get that person back out, some people really do lose themeselves in themselves if that makes sense. With that said there was a brief period where I was going down a similair road myself but not to the point that I forgot who I was and who my friends were. Thankfully I realised that I could make friends by staying true to myself and I wouldn't want it any other way :)

I'm glad that you never forgot who you were, but sadly that there some people around us that think that when they have established financially they have to change their personality along with the life style.

Well money is definetly something that changes people, and is probably the biggest factor in people changing. I'd hope to be sensible with it if I ever got a large sum but you never know until you have it I suppose.

Thanks for this discussion, see we all are born on this earth, but all are not equally lucky in all respects, some are lucky, lead very good life, some are not; it all depends upon our past karma and present deeds too. We should live honestly and die peacefully.

yup, we are all have our destiny, but some people think just because they are have a better living situation now they are different from others and keep distance with us.

Let's say that the book on which I'm presently working becomes a best-seller... If anything changes about me, it will be having the ability to spend on more things that I'm not able to now. It won't be about changing my personality in order to fit my new image. I'm going to still be the same person that I am now, and the last thing I want to do is to turn into a snob. If I were to change to fit some kind of image that others might be expecting from me, I would be cheating myself by losing myself.

WOW, you're working in your book? great job! Not all people like you, many of them will change. Life style is a plus/bonus for the hardwork, but personality should not change from nice to bad right? I donn't understand why some people just because of they are popular or established financially make limitation who they invite to come for birthday party. Why not grab neighbours, childhood friends, work mates, and others who used to come to your birthday every day?

Some people really change when they are surrounded with big time or popular people as if they're the real superstars- although they are just riding other's shoes. Duh- these kind of people are users/rider and social climber who thinks they're not stepping on the ground anymore. Too bad, the air gets inside their heads and made them float :xx

I couldn't help to stay around with those kind of people. Most of the time they will come to us only when they need something from us and leave when we can't offer anything.

I know that there are people in youtube which now became too famous with hundreds of thousands of subscriptions on their channels that are now changed personality and others that didn't yet! But yes, popularity changes you for sure because when people get attention to you, you feel like a god!
