I think that make peace with the numbers is not a thing that people who are not genious are absolutely unable to do. I also hate maths also if I am good!

But what kind of language did you see? I'm sure you just saw binary code programming which is composed by only 1 and 0 but it's machine language. People today use php5, pearl, javascript, html5, c, c++, c#, vb.net but there are not any number inside so you don't need to have good notes on maths. You only need to learn these languages!

I tried several... C++, Python. When I checked the book about C++ and saw those numbers I was scared a bit.

I don't think people hate maths because of the numbers. They just hate the algebraic part of it.
Pertaining to programming, even someone from a maths background will get confused doing programming, with the iterations and all.
I learned some programming during my undergraduate studies, and the only math involved were iterations, substitution, constants, arrays and some more I couldn't remember, but the ones frequently used are the ones I mentioned.

A good knowledge of maths would be ideal obviously, but being 'great' at maths? I'd say no you wouldn't need to be. It would really depend on what kind of programming you see yourself doing. I talked to a guy once who designs in game material for computer games and I asked him the same question, do you need to be good at maths. He replied this way, "if you want to get into game engine design then yes you need to be a genius when it comes to it however if you want to do what I do then no so long as you can understand the maths and logics behind it then thats all that is needed, understanding." So really to me anyways (I have done some programming but not alot as it doesn't hold my interest to be honest) you don't need to be great at maths but depending on what you want to create/program a good understanding of maths in most cases can help you get through it.
But then again for some people I know or have met they hate maths with a passion but yet they program daily as a living. So if you truly end up enjoying it the maths skills will follow and flow with the programming itself.
Goodluck

Hello csabaholcz, once the we have established a good skill in programming languages we can have our maths problems solved very easily. Just a substitution of values is required. Once the formula is depicted in the program, w ca calculate them very easily.

I don't know but I like maths. I think if you really want to learn programming, there should not be anything stopping you. I math is there, study that too. It is not hard but we think it is hard. Do it with your heart and I know you will succeed. can you do me a favor? tell me the site where you are learning this programming. I am interested in doing it too. have a wonderful day and thanks for sharing.

Oh sorry... This was past tense. But I used to learn from books and downloaded PDF books.

It really depends on the type of programming you're doing but you know programming is very math-intensive.After all, computers are basically giant calculators. There are some sub-disciplines of computer science that don't require as much math, but there really isn't any way to avoid it completely.

Perhaps a little knowledge on math will do. Just keep on going because I know everything can be learned if we really wanted to learn such thing. I also want to learn about programming but as of now I am really very busy. There are really things that we should learn that might be of help since we are working online. Good luck csabaholcz. You can do it!
