Well we took our long drive to Colorado and back and survived! The kids did wonderfully I was so impressed by how well they behaved as the trip that was supposed to take us 30 hours out took us 46 becasue of road construction in just about every state we went through! We got there the morning of the wedding which was awesome. It was a great wedding and you know it's good when the DJ and his assistant thank you for being at the wedding and decide not to charge you! (Love those guys by the way!) It was small only about 50 of us in the back yard but we partied hard and it was great. It was so nice to see family that we haven't seen in 13 years. We got to explore the Rockies a bit which was cool. Got to see where the original True Grit was filmed in parts and got to see some great wild life we don't have here in the East. We left and hit up our family and friends in Chicago for a day and that was great too. I am not much of a city girl but I loved seeing our loved ones there. Then we continued home where I spent the last two days doing laundry. Now we are home and settled back into our routines with just a couple weeks before school starts I cannot beleive the summer is almost over!

It is a reality game show for winning the house. They are giving tough games for us and we have to win in that.

Wow! My brother's wedding was only a few hours away in Houston. I honestly can't remember much of the wedding or reception, I just knew it wasn't going to last, and it didn't.

well, it WAS 32 years ago... might explain part of why I don't remember much, but they went into it wrong, bad enough when one does it, but both?

I understand and as a family we are waiting for my sister's marriage to fall apart... they work to a point but as the major life decisions start coming out more I think it will split them as does everyone else. There is only so far one can go when one wants kids and the other does not and believes he can change her mind not to mention he comes from a family with multiple divorces ( mom 3 Dad on #6) it is how the handle family problems he has no skills to deal with issues that will come up. I hope it doesn't happen but I think it will

The older I get the more I value the time I get to see family. I'm glad you were able to do that. And I'm thrilled to hear that your kids behaved! I hope that jerk who was giving you trouble didn't say anything stupid.

Nah that was my brother in laws family they where not included..he he he! The kids did impress me, I mean four girls in a van for hours on end I thought for sure it would turn into WW III. It was great to spend time with this part of the family and though spoiled rotten I am glad the girls did too. Oh and by spoiled I mean my one aunt fed them cake for dinner after insisting we have a grown ups night out, then my cousins new husband fed them wedding cake for breakfast while we where out so spoiled

The trip that you did up to Colorado for the wedding sounds fantastic to me. I am pleased that your kids did so wonderfully. It was lovely that you saw some of the amazing looking Rocky Mountains. The 46 hour journey seemed long to me. I know you have big distances to cover in the USA. I drove from Somerset to Cornwall and my little girl suffered much travel sickness even though she had pills against travel sickness. Yes, the summer holidays are almost over. I am glad you are safely back to home sweet home.

It was a long trip just under 2000 miles (about 3200 Kilos) from start to finish!

Sounds like you had a great time and nice trip as well. I have the Rockies in my state. Summer does come to a close too quickly doesn't it? I will be more glad this year than most others because of the heat and the smoke. Glad you are home safe and sound.

We drove through some of the burnt areas and the smell of smoke doesn't seem to have washed away at all.

home sweet home! that is the good saying. and that is true. bec there is no like place like home. in home you can do anything. even you can't clean the house. or sleep late or wake late. its up to you. even you go to other place and when you come home to your own house you will have a piece of mind. before we been in the hospital for a month. went we came home i have a good sleep. even you got home from other country if you got home you will be happy. and you will say there is no place like home. and there is my cousin told before that its different when you are in your own house. thank you

Most of our area starts next week but as we cyber school we will start in September. We do not take as many days off during the year so can start and end at different times. It was fun!
