Walking alone at night ( especially for a woman) is frowned upon around here because so many bad things happen around here at night. I can't help that I enjoy going on nightly walks with my dog, this seems to be our bonding time together and we haven't ran into any kinds of issues. Do you ever walk alone at night? Have you ever had a negative experience from it? Thanks for commenting.

Well i am usually rushinng home whenever i am late, beyond my curfew hours. But sometimes when the weathers right I do stop to enjoy the stars and the wind. Usually a empty spot by some greenery gives me great relief. I just sit there and look up at the stars, feeling the wind on my back, sometimes giving me shivers. Have never ran into any trouble, except with some canines, maybe thats because i am a guy and not a girl. Well hope all you girls all the best with your night walks....

In the past I had a job where I worked from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and when I finished I work I had to catch a train to my own town and walk from the train station to my home. I arrived in my own town around midnight and I didn't like walking home at night. I never experience any negative things during the time that I walked home alone, but I didn't feel that it was safe to walk alone at that time. If I had had a dog like you have I probably would have been less worried, but I walked by myself. I always walked really fast in order to get home as fast as possible, and I was happy when I got another job where I had to work during the day.

When I was single and working I used to walk on the way home since my house was near to my working place during that time' Also I have some bad experienced while walking alone, there are some guy calling me in different name and asking if they can walk with me, of course I am afraid but I dont showed to them my fear instead I just walked fast and pray that they will not following me or else I will scream and run. But now that I am married my husband did not allowing me to go out during the night without him because he is worried that might some bad things happen to me again like before.

I walk often with my dogs at night. I find it relaxing. No noise just the night noises. Many are worried I walk alone but I am not really alone I do have my dogs. Second is I bring my cell phone I have the town police department programed as my first one on the speed dial setting on my phone. So there is no fumbling or trying to find the right number if I ever feel threatened.

I used to work late and have to walk home by myself, because the buses didn't run that late. It was an hour long walk. One time I saw a drunk man walking toward me and it was pretty creepy. Another time someone stopped their car right beside me. I froze with fear, but for some reason they just started driving again. Maybe they thought they knew me? I don't know. Anyway, I hate walking alone at night even though it's so peaceful and quiet. There are too many shady people in the city and I just don't feel safe.

Shean, nowadays we seldom want to walk at night. We usually walk at night only when we are having vacation in my uncle's village. As in this town area, many types of issues had been happening, so we prefer to avoid the night walk. Nowadays, seems not safe to walk in the night especially at town area like here. So far, myself haven't experienced any problem. But there had been a few cases being told by my neighbors which makes us feel scared. Better think safety first...

I don't walk around late at night by myself. Unless it is a definite must. Like I'm coming home from work and I had no other way of getting home except by bus. But even then I at least talk to my husband on the phone. The only reason for this is because of so many stuff that have gone on in our neighborhood, its really dangerous around here. So I'd rather not walk home at night. Firstly because of the stray dogs that come out and there have been so many people that have been shot in our neighborhood and mainly for no good reason at all just for walking down the street. I really hope to get out this neighborhood eventually. That would be nice. But also for that main reason I no longer ride the bus.

I don't used to have night walks on these days. The days and the situations are really getting worst. Walking through the roads especially on night time is a calculated risk and I am not able to take the risk for simple walk. I just used to manage it by walking inside my home.

I just walk alone at night when I am so sad. When I feel so bd I don't want to say any words to others, walking alone makes me feel much better.

I have walked home during night time and I was pretty scared. I hardly do this so walking at night scares me. I was so paranoid that I keep looking back if someone is following me or something. I walked fast so I could reach home quick! That is an experience that i would not like to try again.

I very enjoy the time to walk alone along the track field, especially when i'm down. At the same time, i like walking and listening to some music, sometimes i would just keep walking ,thinking something. At this moment, i feel free and i can do whatever i want. Because now it's night, nobody would spot me and i can get a feeling of peace from the ningt. But it's also likely to happen some terrible things. So my advice is you walk alone, but should't go too far away, for it may hide some potential danger.
