Hi friends and lotters
I was wondering that during my stay here, I havent seen any big celebrity at myLot. I mean look at FB or even twitter... there are World famous people around - from the movie actors to sport players to even politicians!
Why is this not happening at MyLot? Is it because of the fact that they arent aware of MyLot? or is it because they dont have the time to discuss? On the contrary I do feel that reaching out to the people is much easier here than on FB or other social media sites - reason - we Discuss things here - unlike the others where we make merely statements... Or is it because they are too scared of the non-fans!!!
Your Views on this would be appreciated.
Oh, by the way, I see all of us here are International Celebs as we do have a list of friends who would appear on anything we discuss with much better and healthy interaction than on any other website, and our relations are stronger and healthier.... So please dont feel sad or scared if the Celebs were around or are going to read this one
have a great week ahead
Cheers
theSids.

hi praaji
yes, Missed you... and realized right now that you have shifted professions- from an accountant to a shuttler
Seriously, I know it is painstaking when you have to travel so frequently...
And also - who needs a celeb around when you and my sis are around... you are more precious than any celeb

One thing for sure is that they don't have time to discuss. Besides, maybe they aren't as opinionated as us.
But come to think of it, they really can share their rantings here without getting known that they are this celebrity or that, since they can hide in their avatar and be private as to infromations about themselves.

Hi SimplyD
Of course, they would have many more plus points if they were here... at least none would have been allowed to use the words some of them use for the celebs on twitter and fb. It would have been healthy and we would have learned a few tricks of how they manage their time and other things about their profession.
For the rants, of course we would be polite when responding to them too. The only thing as many said they lack time - their payouts would be much delayed but then they already mint more money so they wouldnt care

Because it's our little secret. The secret of the common woman and the common man. If everybody knew about it, we'd have all the problems facebook and twitter have.Postings on mylot don't get us thrown out of the olympics. We are anonymous and happy.

I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm fine, the medical tests just don't agree with that. That's the medical test's problem!

The medical test sometimes are rigged to suite the doctors (okay that is not out of the blue but from a personal experience - where they changed the WBC count on my report and later when found guilty they did say it was a typing error)... But still, please take care as the medical tests are right most of the time...
Personally - the positive you has been iconic for me and I do believe being positive in mind does help you win over many conditions

Hi writers
I am not sure about that little secret, but one thing I am sure of - you are my celeb. I have learned a lot following your discussions.
Recently I was ill and away. After return, I hoped on your profile and found that you had responded to a couple of discussions some 3 days back (then). I was happy to see you back and am still very happy with your presence on my discussion today.
Hope you are doing good on your health.

How do you know they aren't on myLot? Most people her do not use their real name. This is the perfect place for a celeb to socilize and know what people really think and feel as well as to be comfortable sharing their own thoughts and feelings.

Facebook and Twitter are completely different sites. I use my real name on both and I post and share content relative to my real world life. My involvement on those sites is primarily for the marketing aspect of social media marketing, not the socializing.
MyLot monitors responses shared here and deletes what it feels is inappropriate whereas that is a lot less likely to occur on Twitter or Facebook. You also have to realize that not every public figure on Twitter and Facebook are doing their own posting. Many people, even very minor celebs, have someone who does that for them.

hi Canellita
Somewhere, when I look at the profiles of celebs on Twitter, FB, I have found that most of them (95%) of them, use their own performing names. This is why I feel so that they dont exist in abundance here.
I completely agree with you that MyLot is the one of the best places to socialize as the responses and discussions are healthy and you dont find much of crap responses like on their accounts on FB or twitter or even you tube

Hi godson
Looking for a celebrity?
Here I come!!! Now that you put up a discussion like this, I have to admit now I am really a celebrity
okay... kidding aside... I think these celebrities wouldn't be interested at all because they won't have the luxury of time to interact with us. Most of them just post something and wait for comments and reactions; will never get back if they aren't interested or if no one reacted on their statuses. You're right they'll be scared also that they won't have any fans here. Some celebrities have blogs and I think they find it more convenient to use. It can also be true that they don't know about myLot. So why don't we invite them instead? =D

Of course - my godmom is one celebrity. I agree (otherwise I would not have forced my applications through.)
Well, we do have similar people here at mylot too who post and forget the interaction part. And it is not that they do it once a while. They do it everytime they post - and so if the celebs did a similar thing it wouldnt be an out of the world thing here. Instead it would be a common thing which keeps happening.
However, the advantage would be with the celeb - s/he will get an insight into what the fans logically think about their posts - maybe problems, or evenhow they cope up with their so very busy life or even how good or bad was their last action (professionally).
Needless to say, mylot would give them positive reasponses (as we do remove out the harsh comments)

Okay now that you know it, that'll be our little secret
But most of them have a very hectic schedule and won't have a time to compose an entry or anything, especially those that are very popular and in demand. Most of them have administrator/PAs that checks and posts on their behalf. So if we encounter a very popular celebrity here I am sure we are not actually interacting with the real person.
If in case celebrities starts coming here - I am sure they will be happy coz as you already said, they will get all positive responses.

I think celebrities don't have time for these discussions. I have noticed that they come on twitter for little while to just update on their status. Most of the time they busy and most emails and all checked by their secretaries. sometimes I wonder that even the tweets are done by their secretaries. They must be In the spa and just would dictate what is to be written on twitter. It is possible. I have seen many Bollywood starts who are always busy. Even on facebook they don't have acount but they have page. And I am sure the updates for the page is done by their secretaries. haha
while you cannot compare mylot with other social sites. Mylot is something very different. Good day to you.

Hi riyauro
I read on some response that you are participating in some reality song / talent hunt show on Indian TV. That is great. Now, I dont have a tele set so I am unsure how are you doing on those but I still wish you a good luck - you know, if you win, I would tell all in family that I know some of you (via your discussions and responses)...
Okay, now back to discussion, I read that SRK was playing online games SOCCER during the shoot of DON 2 and then there was also one who kept herself busy on twitter. And also on my daily newspaper - The Telegraph - there is a daily section of posts from Celebs on twitter - so most likely they are all tech-Savvy. They already are seen on interviews with those amazing handsets which do have the FB and twitter connectivity so I might not go with your lines when you say - they might ask / dictate their secretaries...
But then these posts from them are one liners or pictures/photos only. So maybe, they wont have enough time to spend here on discussions - but then I also agree with SimplyD (down below) that they can throw of some of their rants here and might get better insights.

Hi Bhai! I think celebrities don't need the money My Lot gives us and Twitter is easier. You can just say whatever you want Without making it the beginning of a real discussion. I am not at Facebook. I see it as a invasion of privacy. And Twitter seems like a way to start arguments.

Hi behen

Loved that. But unfortunately these celebs dont realize these!!!They do need someone to give them a thorough demonstration of how wonderful this site MyLot is and once this happens, I am sure they would hop on - we all would never mind their not commenting back on their discussions but we would learn some more about the Personal them

Dear Sidhu,
I do not think celebrities will dare to sign up with discussions sites.
Why we people are here, first attraction was money or earnings (I agree after joining and knowing more about the site we are not bothering much about money, but valuing knowledge and friendship). Celebrities do not need extra income that also by spending lot of time in front of the computer. Since they can earn enough money in limited time with their job what is the need of joining discussion sites for earning. The other thing is they are not aware about beauty of mylot as they haven’t tried it ever.
Finally, may I ask why you need a celebrity here?

Hi didi
True they celebs dont need money from mylot - a mere 10 USD is nowhere important for them but then this is not the only reason to be here. They can be around to share some behind the scenes fun-things, or even follow up what their fans actually liked or disliked about their performances or even share their problems out here... I am sure there can be numerous reasons.
Oh, I need a celebrity here so that I can befreind him/her and then pose some competetion for him/her and then ask for bribes (been a while no one has offered me any bribes - C - you know)

If there are any celebrities on Mylot they haven't revealed their true identity I have never met any celebrities here and imagine that they are too busy to spend their time here or maybe they have never heard about Mylot. It is also possible that they prefer to spend their time on sites where they can promote their music, movies etc instead of sites where people have discussions about other kinds of topic like we have on Mylot. Maybe they prefer to update their fan pages instead of participating in discussions. I think that discussion sites are much more interesting than social networking sites or fan pages, but I know that some people disagree with that.

Hi Procospino
We are all celebreties here. This is what I feel.
Yes, like you I havent encountered any celebs here. Though many of them are into promotion of what they do, and MyLot doesnt support promotion of any kind - might be a reason. I agree with you on the fact that discussion sites are more interesting and in fact more addictive than the other social networks or fan pages. I too have never appreciated being on FB as all I see of it is copy and paste - nothing original

Hello my friend thesids Ji,
Well, I think the very purpose of this site and others a syou mentioned are of different nature. We deal in particular fashon, whereas FB and Tweets are entirely different. FB and tweets can be reached from many sources like linking from various sources. Also, here we keep discussing on various topics, there it is not limited to only discussions, it mainly counts one's views there. I like no. 1 resonse very well.
May God bless You and have a great time

Hi maygodblessu
Well, MyLot might not be accessible from other sources as you say, but then, dont you think it is more healthy than those FB, Twitter and even YouTube. And how do we know that the Celebs have nothing else to discuss except their profession? I am certain they would have problems too and they could get good solutions if they were here...

Hi sid,
If I have to follow the celebrity status/ updates, I would be more on twitter and fb rather than in mylot. It’s ok to have a good GK about the famous personalities but I would like My Lot without them as for me each my lotter is a celebrity with his/her own fan flowing NO ‘friends’ flowing.
My lot is unique in its own way to attach people of different walks and talks across the globe. People here talk about their daily life, experience and a lot of sharing knowledge/secrets/info etc. etc. Noone needs any publicity about their own issues but they know it well out of the mylot population (244688), his/her discussion is read/responded/intercommented and at they end up making friends and not FANS, who will remember you today and forget you tomorrow.
One reason could be why they are not in Mylot - they don't need any online earnings...so let them work offline and just entertain us in their own style.
So don't you think so i am a celebrity too? Oh yeah, do take an appointment for meeting me...

Hi viju
I had seen your responses on page one and was waiting for you to respond to discussion as the ones on page 1 were to others' comments.
I agree (and even mention it on my discussion that we MyLotters are celebs already, in fact International Celebs) - and yes, I have been asking for appointments from you since the past few months and you have been busy with work
Even the few days vacation you planned towards the last week of August this year, I miss that out as my trip to the Holy Place will not be possible before October.

I don't mean to make such a large fuss, but I think it's generally the looks as well as the intent. If I were to go to a friend and explain what MyLot is, I'd tell him that it's a site where you get to make money by posting things. It may or may not be about your personal life, but people all over the world get to speak their opinion about it; meanwhile on the other hand, something like Facebook allows you to do that, but at a more personal range like with your friends.
Sure, some Celebrities (could) go to MyLot, but I'm pretty sure the one major point that shows the reason why MyLot isn't gaining a lot of traffic is because of the user interface as well as the site's intent on its users.
Hope this helps.

Hi McCreeper
No fuss dear. I appreciate reading responses and liked your response too.
Well on FB, the stuff that these celebs post out are normally for everyone (public, in FB lingo) - it is the normal people who use the FB with private settings like between friends or family only.
As far as looks are concerned, I find FB clumsier and as it is loaded with much of javascript, many a times it doesnt work that great on the devices these celebs use - their handsets. but yes, I dont disagree that there could be a much interesting interface at MyLot.

I agree with McCreeper , Facebook is about sharing your photos , events , connect with your friends from real life , family...
Celebrities may find it useful to show themselves to the world and even be more famous.
I think somehow , Facebook is about public relation and mylot is really not.
I won't use mylot to tell everyone about my recent activities or just upload my photos because no one here is my friend in real life. In fact , one of the guide lines under "Privacy" - "discussion board" recommends not to expose personal information.
All of the communication between users is recommended to be through the discussions , so , posting in discussions is not easy and responds are supposed to be good.

sid, mostly celebrities don't have more time for online activities, in fact most of the celebrities fb and twitter accounts are operated by their PA and other person, very few celebrities have time to check their mails and other things, so it is hard for them to spend their time with this site, it is my opinion

Hi VP
Sorry, I dont buy this theory of them not having much time. Read my response on #1 above where I do give evidence of the fact that these celebs do have time - if you dont understand that response - then here I go again dear - Consider Rajnikanth. He is busy shooting right, but that shoot needs him to travel to California. The flight takes 25+ hours. will he be busy acting on the flight? Wow, 25 hours free no work and a paid trip with all the hi-tech handsets.... so he ends up playing fifa or any other game on the Android set. And also posting on Twitter and FB. So a post on MyLot too can be easily included.

i agree with your point, celebs have time in this sort, but it is there own wish to join with this kind of sites, may be some celebs may use some fake name and using this site too.. Who knows it? some mylotters have user name not their real name in this site, may be any celebrity available here in this sort..

Facebook does have alot of fan pages and author profiles. On Mylot it is an entirely different make up. This is not a social networking site. It is a discussion site. And if I were busy being a celebrity with appearances and work in films to take up my time what time would be left to be on Mylot?

Hi celticeagle
You definitely have a point here. The timing factor. But then, if you could use the handset to post on Twitter or even Facebook (agreed that many pages on FB are fans created) - you could also post a discussion maybe once a month or so to keep in tocuh with your fans here at MyLot. you know myot is quite accepting - even if you dont respond back to any of your responders, no one cares. So you could at least read out what your fans think about what you did - maybe a performance anywhere anytime. It can help you in becoming a better performer - And again another difference would be that almost all responses you would get from here would be healthier as I have seen hate-responses to a few celebs on twitter.

why would a big celebrity want to be on Mylot? They have far more important things to do then be here! Like making movies, touring, having affairs, getting divorces, making an @ss of themselves on Youtube, getting arrested, suing other people and going to rehab! Why they are busy!

Hi, Celebrities are very busy making big money. They do not have time to make pennies. Each hour spent on Mylot trying to make a few dollars could stand to lose thousands of dollars. In fact they do not have time to reply fan mails. They paid assistants to reply fan mails for them. It is cheaper that way rather than replying fan mails themselves.

many celebrity use social network for socialize and some other to made a controversy. many of them may not interested to involve in a discussion or real communication with their fans or haters.
but for me, I saw some veterans deserve for title "mylot celebrity" because they always come anytime we need help and tell us what to do and what to do not in mylot. their solution is complete and make every problem is solve. sometimes I thought they are part of mylot admin, but exactly they are not

I think that it's because MyLot reveals more about your life than on Facebook, because you leak out details of yours bit by bit in your discussions. Besides, most celebrities don't have time or don't have enough interesting, yet somewhat ordinary experiences to make discussions for fans to gaze and adore and respond to.
