Hi everyone! Thanks for the prayers for Hiro! This morning Hiro came back home after being hospitalized for about 3 days. He looks so much better and healthier. The thing that makes me happy is his appetite keeps getting increased! As soon as he arrived at home, he ate : 1. a small bowl of his dry food (royal canin) till the last piece - and asked more! 2. Then I gave him a small plate of fried fish , then he ate 3 tablespoons of friskies filets canned food... 3. And he ate regularly per 3- 4 hours. He can eat again because his smelling is back to normal after having snots in his nose. (btw, you were rite, Loverbear!) The vet that has just taken care of him said that Hiro was misdiagnosed by the former vet (the vet that let Hiro ran away :| ) ,so that's why he had not recovered for over a month. He was given the wrong medicine. Fortunately , I went to other vet to ask the second opinion. And now Hiro is totally health and agile! :) Thanks again everyone! ;

I am as thrilled as I would be if it were my own cat!!! It is wonderful news for a Monday morning. Hug Hiro for me, and give him tons of loving!!!! I am so very very happy for both of you (shoot I'm sitting here with tears of joy running down my cheeks!!! I'm such a softie!!!) Make sure he gets a really good diet so that he continues to thrive. Also realize that once he has had pneumonia he is at risk to get it again. It's like humans. I've had pneumonia at least a dozen times through my life and was informed that I am an easy target to get it again. You don't have to carry him around on a velvet cushion, but if he gets a runny nose or is off his feed get him checked. It's better to be on the safe side and use preventative medicine than to have the poor guy in the hospital. Hug him again for me!!!

It seems like I have this section of my brain for useless or seldom used information. Knowing about the pneumonia has been beneficial for me, as I had my first case of pneumonia when I was fifteen and have had so many cases of it through the years. I am very careful during the winter months about getting in contact with ill people. I had a case of pneumonia three years ago when an "friend" of mine bumming a ride home from me. She had been in contact with her nieces and nephews who had colds. Of course she doesn't use her brain for much more than holding her hair on, and she was all over the children like a cheap suit. Of course she got a cold from them and bummed the ride home from me. I had a bandana for her to use to cover her nose and mouth, out of respect for my asthma problem. She took the bandana and laid it on her lap using it only to blow her nose. Then instead of taking it home and washing it for me she left it in the car on the gear shift knob. Also she didn't cover her mouth or nose when she coughed or sneezed so germs were flying like crazy in the car. Of course I got the cold which quickly developed into pneumonia. I ended up at the hospital and on antibiotics and steroids to help my breathing. The dim wit couldn't understand WHY I was so upset with her. I no longer give her rides during the winter months and will seldom come in contact with her during other parts of the year. Let your Dad know about the pneumonia and the ease that even a simple cold can turn into a serious situation. Believe it or not that is what claimed Jack LaLane. He got the flu which turned into pneumonia and it literally overwhelmed his system in just a couple of days, even though he was a very health conscious man...it was from the fact that he had had pneumonia previously and it was easier for him to get it again. Well my coffee break is over (I was working on teddy bears before I decided to check the Lot to see if anything was going on.) and I should get back to work. Have a great day!

My dad has had it three times already--pneumonia. I didn't know that about it returning again easier if you had it already. You are an encyclopedia of knowledge Loverbear!

So glad your cat's alright, I would be furious if a vet had misdiagnosed my cat and gave it the wrong medicine.

Vets nowadays in my city, always blame the patients rather than admit their mistakes. When he let my cat ran away, my dad was very mad but he didn't even feel sorry and asked us to let the cat go if we couldn't find him within a week. You should read my first started discussion to know what really happened to my cat if you wanna. I just wish the people in here could care more about saving the animals :) Anyway, thanks for your concern ^^

Don't worry I did read your first post about it and sounds like you had a horrible time. I to wish more people cared about saving animals as I love all kinds of animals, especially my pets. Let's just hope everything is fine now :)

Thank goodness. If not move to another doctor, we may never know there is misdiagnosis? With his instinct, Hiro knows. Maybe in the future we must understand the cats language, so we can communicate better.

You are my new friend, and I was not there to share your fears and pray for you when you needed me. But I am here to share your joys. I am glad you are happy.

Oh! I'm soooo happy he is home now, I so hoped he would be feeling better by now too. Poor thing, it's terrible to have gone through all that he did. That first vet knew nothing about cats, apparently and even let him run away--sheesh. His nose had snots in it? Wow, thats crazy wierd too, haha. I am glad though that his nose fixed and he can smell again. A sense of smell is very important to animals, they rely on it for alot, more than we know. Oh Loverbear is right about alot of things, she's one of the most intelligent mylotters around! And I'm proud to know her as well. Good that she helped you this way and the second vet too.I hope he continues to be in good help and God Bless you for trying to help him in all the ways you could.

Hi, Juliyan, You have a lovely cat, he really suffered a lot, a month? I can't imagine it. He is a brave cat. Now that he has completely recovered, you should be happy for that. I can imagine you looking at him eating just like looing at a baby eating. Hehe, I also feel happy for you, my friend. I love cat but I don't have enough time to take care of it. Maybe when I retired, I will get one to be my company. Have a nice day!
