Hi friends & lotters,
August 13 is celebrated as Left Hander’s Day.
My daughter is a lefty and she always gets wishes and even gifts from her school friends on this day.
Would like to know how many of you are Lefties? Do you get wishes / gifts on this special day? Any other experience because you are a lefty? Has anyone ever told you to use your right hand instead of left?
Happy Left Hander’s day !

Being a left handed person is a gift well I admire those people who can do every thing using their left hand
But I hate those people who always go left and leave the right one

Hi viju
I always wanted to be a lefty. Sorry I am a right handed person but I did try out my best to become a lefty. I dont know but there is a special feeling when I see them write, play. My nephew is a left - the only one in my family - though one of my uncles (dad's brother) and his son are lefty - but they never appealed to me.
I tried bowling and even badminton with my left hand and of course, I am still trying to write straight using my left hand. many say I am nuts here but then, I dont know, I am passionate about being a lefty.
My nephew was initially objected by his parents but now they are all used to it and know that this is not going to change. I gave him a dairy milk yesterday as a celebration of the day but he said he didnt need one, he needed a PERK and I had to gave him one big one.

Hi Sid,
Oh, passion to be one. I don't think you as nut but i think u r 'different'.
So far my knowledge goes, there is noone in our family who's lefty. In her childhood days, we did try to encourage her using right hand often but its a natural flow, so we let it be.
Oh yes, I gave my daughter a perk and also a 5 star. happy to know about your nephew.
Take care.

I didn´t know there was a left hander´s day. I think it´s as absurd as if there was a right handed day. I rather hope for an awareness that lefthanded people should have the same rights that righthanded people take for granted. I cannot use a fish knife at posh restaurants. They hare made for right handed people. Of course, when I was small, there were still some people who tied lefthanded children´s hand so they would "learn" the "right" way. Right now, I´m givin a lonely fight with those machines that are used many times for credit cards. The small machines are made so that people (righthanded) pass the card in such a way that if you are not righthanded, you knucle gets in the way and you have to start it all over again or ask the cashier to do it for you. SHAME!!!
I will raise my glass and toast to some lefties I like: Leonardo Da Vinci, Napoleon and Michelangelo among many others.

HI,
yes, i do understand and i read somewhere that some hotels and automobiles are taking care to handle their left handed customers. Hope the credit card machines too find an alternate solutions.
There are many great personalities and celebrities who are lefties.
Thanks for your response.

I never knew about this day until another mylotter just posted a discussion about it. I'm also a lefty and i never even knew we had a whole day dedicated to us. I've never gotten any wishes or gifts on this day because I don't think many people know about it. The only other lefty I know is my aunt. Thanks for sharing!
