Proud to be Filipino
The best word to describe the Filipino Spirit -it's WATERPROOF
This tagline becomes viral on twitter for many days due to the monsoon rain that turn the metro city (capital city of the Philippines) a waterworld on aerial view.
For the last decade the country experienced unexpected calamities every year but these tragedies never degrade every citizen's hope and faith.
As a proof, photos uploaded on social sites during and after calamities there's still smile on every faces.
It's been a week since the monsoon rain submerged many places on high waters.
Now, we are facing another storm coming- with courage every citizen is ready to face every difficulties with faith and smiles.
That's made every Filipino spirit a waterproof
Happy mylotting everyone
jaiho®- face your fears with a smile (^_^)

Hello my friend jaiho2009 Ji,
Well, by coming to know about 'Sucide rate' in your country, it itself speaks of morale values of your land. It is Ok, that Philipines may not be taht wealthy nation, but our side there is saying that GOD lives with poor and downtrodden. So you do not require anything God ids with you.
May God bless You and have a great time

Hello my friend jaiho2009 Ji,
I feel God is God, true OR untrue is like pot-maker. The way one takes it. I may be able to explain with on esaying our side. One believer used to worship Lord Shiva by observing all sort of rituals sincerely, and one non-believer used to hit Lord Shiva at the same time with one big stone. Days past. One previous night it was thunder-storm and river was under spate, Believer could not get up and made it, however non-believer could not sleep and early morning under adverse weather swam the river and went into jungle and wa shappy that believer had not turned up, he tyook very big stone and hit the Lord Shive, Lord Shive came in reality and asked that HE was happy with his sincerity and HE would give boon. He could ask anything , he wanted.
May God bless You and have a great time

Actually, the rain is here again due to Helen.
But we can see from the news that people especially here in metro city and nearby provinces are saying they are ready and life must go on.
Some places are in danger still, and all we can offer is prayer
take care dear

I just hope that this kind of spirit will eventually lead us to a greater effort to all of us to put an end to this flooding. We should use the same spirit to enable us to work together.
The Filipino spirit is always there, but oftentimes, we can only see it in times of hardship. Would it be better if that Filipino spirit is shown in times of plenty?

I noticed that too when I joined myLot. On average, Filipinos tend to be more jovial and less serious about issues, which is something to be learnt from you all. Pinoys are great to keep that spirit alive even with those calamities and tragedies. Keep it up sweetie.

But its not germ proof, I had been scratching like crazy after all those bacterial infection I get after the flood. I already cleaned my house once the water is gone. I am planning to move to another apartment againt. somewhere higher and dryer, cos I dont want to deal with it again. Anyway my car is completely ruined. I have to save money again for a new one. I have money saved for a vacation but I wont spend it for a new car. I will save money to have a new car again, I hate buses and Jeepneys but Iknow I can buy a new car, I just need to abuse my self at work again.

hello Capt,
Oh yeah...not germ proof
Sorry to hear that you are having skin problem.
Bath with hot water, vinegar and salt ( best alternative and safe as well)
Moving to a new apartment is a better solution.
Check for condo unit, consider Serendra- Global Fort Bonifacio so far we never had any problem with floods since Ondoy and the latest monsoon rain.
Regarding car, well you can have a new one later after moving to a new place.

I saw that tagline too
Filipinos are brave and can still find happiness in the middle of disasters. That's the spirit of true Filipinos
I also heard about 'Helen' Hope everyone will be safe and that Helen moves away from the Philippines quickly.

Same here, proud to be from the Philippines. Resiliency is the word to describe the Filipino. We tend to stand up after a big punch that tumbled us. We never give up. We take the courage because we have our fellowmen willing to help. No storm or any disaster can topple us if we help each other, that's for sure. Let's help our government. Thanks

hello mikyung,
Yes, resilient is another word- but I like the "waterproof spirit".
Anyway, like the old saying, Filipinos are like bamboos
we bend
we stand
we are flexible
strong
so waterproof is the best definition
because we got the spirit

It's in our heritage that no matter how difficult life gets, we will always stand firm put a smile or make things funny just to endure trials and hardship. Merely because we have a strong faith and our being naturally happy people what makes us become waterproof.

hi jai,
I agree like the wedding in the flood that's a spirit of loving each other
Those people who still manage to work despite of the flood just to earn
Despite of the damage that monsoon brought to us you can still see a smile and positive thinking in a Filipino.
miss yah
