i think if you want to mudik, the news maybe will be disaster for you..
one portal report that any bus ticket from AC business class until economic class from Jakarta to several city in Java, Madura and Sumatera had been increased..The bus operator increase the ticket fee..
They take "Tuslah" as their reason..
i give you one example, the ticket fee business AC from jakarta to Madura from the normally fee 170 thousand IDR becomes 360 thousand IDR..OH My God..
From jakarta to cilacap, from 75 thousand IDR becomes 130 thousand IDR
that`s why many people prefer choose their own vehicle for going mudik..even maybe it is not safe for them..
Government must do something i think..Where are you transportation department??

this is disaster, but for me, this is very common because each time lebaran is coming, the ticket fee is always increase for always twice than regular price. for example ticket for Palembang - Semarang, normal day is about Rp 300.000, but during lebaran, price will be Rp 500.000 up to Rp 600.000. this phenomenon make us think twice to mudik every year, because from mudik cost, this gave us special burdened.

when you were student you have more times to mudik out of lebaran time, but when you were an employee, sometimes lebaran is the only opportunity to come back home, especially because Palembang-Semarang is very far

That is why I never mudik when Ied. I chose mudik after Ied, in addition to reducing congestion is also to reduce the cost of my expenses. I could be mudik especially if it at any time from the company to give leave of absence

hi, teguh, mudik after lebaran is very effective for our expenses, but sometimes the atmosphere is different. I will always love to open fasting together with my family when I was mudik. I will also love to celebrate idul fitri and visiting the neighbour together with family. this is a different atmosphere...

@ redvakaurvaki : It is true that, the atmosphere was different, I'm mudik usually after prayers ied, gathering to the neighbors first and go to mudik, so I can still feel the atmosphere of mudik, although sometimes feels different because it does not feel fast at home with family in my Village

I did go to Jakarta several years ago by my own car from Jogja. I supposed to arrive at Jakarta within 8 hours, but the road was too crowded and I arrived within 12 hours. Could you imagine how it felt waiting in line for couple hours? There's another option to avoid the crowded road - using motorcycle - , but it is too risky though.

No, I won't
My car was broken a couple week ago by the riot on Solo.
How about you?
