The recent incident of shootout at the Denver suburb of Aurora while the midnight premier of ‘The Dark Knight Rise’ was being screened by a masked man killing 12 people and injuring 50 others, highlights the need for stricter gun laws in the United States of America. Isn’t it? The venue where this unfortunate incident occurred is near the Columbine School where a similar massacre had taken place in 1999. Thus this is not new in the USA. But what is alarming to all of us is that it has also been taking place in other countries. The film and television industries may play a role in it by showing disturbing scenes involving shooting, rape and violence. So the governments of all the countries through out the world should also look into this aspect. Do you also agree with me?

I agree with you that government should take stern action. But how? the size of usa is 7 times that of India. Population is 1/4 of India. As long as people reform themselves government alone cannot do to eradicate these things. Otherwise normally people conduct themselves in USA in an orderly fashion-- you have proper queues in banks, malls, sweet shops, pharmacies etc. but why these incidents happen-- God only can answer this. let us wish such incidents do not happen in any country, for that matter.

In the normal cases -- we do not know who is residing at the other side of this wooden/concrete wall. imagine i am in 33335. I have not seen people living in 33336 or 33334. Each person comes out and gets into his car and drives. number of people walking on the road is nil/negligible. Inspite of this due to unemployment, frustration such incidents happen.

Though there might be some situations in which some of these incidents could be attributed to the violence that is seen in film and also on television. However, I think that it cannot all be attributed to the violence that is seen on television. The reason that I say this is because of the fact that if it was all about media then everyone would be going out and killing other people. Instead, I really think that the people that do these things are mentally unstable to start with.

Social media play a great role too. I remember the days when even the news program have censorship where too violent crimes are not even shown or reported or too morbid scenes too. But nowadays, it seems that news reporting is sensationalised by this crimes and censorship is too lax.
