My cat doesn't come in at night.

August 13, 2012 4:27pm CST
I hate it, my cat never comes in at night. We'll call her and shake treats for her but she just doesn't come. Normally we'll wait up till she get's back but my parents are giving up. The main problem is we have fox's, and no cat flap, so if she get's attacked she has nowhere to run too. Any advice on getting her in? She used to come in all the time when we shouted her but not anymore.

I know how you feel with this. I often worry about mine when they dont care to come in. But I just figure it like this. They are animals by nature. And they are in the lion family so they are pretty much at the top. So they are really smart about staying alive and outsmarting anything that tries to eat them.

Being scared didn't work on Hiro T.T Actually he is a stubborn cat, he always makes us excusing his "nite trip" -every single nite-. I ever locked him in the house (not in his cage) , after his yelling had just been ignored, he peed on all over my house - on the couch, my bedroom's door , the living room's door and the curtains m(0.o)m And someday when he was back home,we saw the blood on the floor. we thought it was a mice he brought, but then we didn't see anything arround him. And we were so surprised when we saw his tail was bleeding. A wild cat had just attacked him! But, unfortunately , soon after his tail was cured, he did the annoying thing again. Yelling us everynite asking us to open the doorway or peeing everywhere q(-_-')p

You're totally right, and there is nothing I can do about it so I gotta just let her do it. Plus if something scares her, she probably wont do it again.

Hi are you saying that your cat comes home in the day time? Then you can do one thing, once he is inside the house, close the windows and doors so that he can not go out. Maybe he is going out to meet his friends in the area, but you said there are foxes so you better keep in inside. Even if you have to tie him to keep him inside in the night, do it. have a wonderful day ahead.

If we don't let her out at all she's scratch the place to pieces. My parents wont keep her in. When I move and get a cat of my own I'm making sure it's an indoor cat so I don't have to deal with this stress.

yeah i can see you are taking tension for the cat. I hope you make her stay home somehow otherwise she will be eaten by the foxes one day. It is not good for him to be out like that in the nights. good luck.

That is a strange cat , Cats normally love soft comfortable places . If your cat is a guy he may plan on leaving your house , male cat some times do that when they find a female cat , but you say its a her so I dont know what could be keeping her outside . One of my cat goes out at night and hunt creepy but thats how he is.

You have to wait until your cat hungry. Unless your cat is taken of others.

I think my cat may be doing just that she is very sneaky and probably eating anything she can find.

I understand your feeling.my cat often go out at night and come in the morning.I dont know where it goes.sometimes,it cannot come back for several days.I even worried it leave me and dont come back.Maybe it go out to make friend, after all,it has some private space belong to itself. If it want to drink milk,it will come back to my side,as milk is its favourite food.
