What did the Community Shield Match tell us about these two title contenders? Before Ivanovic was sent off, things looked somewhat even, though City had more possession. I thought Chelsea would be better, they did great in the Champions League, but Lampard looked tired, Terry didn't seem himself, David Luiz seem frustrated and incapable all night. Ashley Cole did fine, but Milner got in behind him a lot and caused a host of problems. On the other hand, what about the FINISHING from City. Tevez, a rocket, Nasri, a volley in the air, and Yaya Toure smashing it low in the bottom corner to beat Cech. What do you think? Is Chelsea weak at the back? What will they do without an Essien in midfield? Obi Mikel was AWFUL. Will Torres be able to fill the shoes of Drogba? I doubt it. Will City play this well in the regular season? Did City's new V formation at the back work well?

Di Matteo is not brave for taking risk..
if he wants, he should play Marko Marin and Eden Hazard..but maybe he thinks they are not ready for the real tournament..
Maybe chelsea must buy one new forward for anticipating if Torres can`t play like the minimum requirement of Di Matteo

I think Di Matteo needs another striker. What if torres gets injured or has a bad run of form. Will sturridge take over? He's good as a winger, but not a 100% striker. Chelsea have money, but they only have torres and the new Belgian, Lukaku... maybe I'm spelling that wrong... but I think they will have a hard time this season without more new players. United on the other hand, have brought in some players and looks like Van Persie. They will be who I would bet on. Maybe Liverpool will have a good season now that they seem to have got past the Suarez/Evra problem.

Lukaku had been borrowed to WBA if iam not wrong..Di Matteo can`t guarantee that Lukaku will play regularly.
that`s why Lukaku accept this contract..Maybe he will get better performance after playing regularly..
Lukaku is not newcomer...He had been staying in Stamford Bridge more than 1 years..

I would love it if Man City start the new season playing in that formation. From the match, they are times when Chelsea starts to threaten and Man City looks light-weight in defense. If a fast and quick moving attacking team is in the match, then Man City would not have it so easy.

First of all it told me that Chelsea are going to struggle this season to finish in the top 4 again. But I was happy to see Torres confident and scoring goals. But Man City showed that buys or no buys they are still a very strong team. They have players all over the park who can score goals and the team will be again the one setting the pace this season.
Cheers!
