Now what am I gonna ask..lol
But honestly, I got to taste Kiwi fruit last year, and to tell you the truth with all its good qualities, it didnt get approval from my taste buds.
And I have not tasted Avacado yet..honestly I was dying to, but Kiwi debacle has made hesitant.
So what are the fruits commonly found in your parts of the world and how do they taste..
We eat apples, bananas, mangoes, oranges, sweet limes, grapes, guavas, water melons, and a few other varieties of melons mostly. Sometimes we get strawberries ..and what we call Jamuns (these are purple or violet fruits that dangle on tall trees and fall when we are not around but taste swell color my lips and tongue hard not to share because of that variety of fruts..pity thaey have big seed..but it is good for diabetes).
Which fruits do you all get more often in your country, and how do they taste and look, if you can describe it would be so great.
Thanks in advance..I love eating and I love fruits..

Vandana, avocados are NOT SWEET. They might be a "fruit," which tomatoes (also non-sweet) are, technically, but I don't even want to imagine what would happen to an avocado were one to add sugar to it (which can be done to tomatoes)! One adds =savory= spices, or just salt (% often, tomatoes) to avocado. Best advice, find an expert to choose & prepare avocados for you!
It's still a weird taste, but _I_ love it!

I have several fruit trees, including some "exotic" ones : a persimmon and... three kiwi lianas -- a male and 2 female --. I like kiwis when they are ripe -- in October here --, but it is not my preferred fruit. Local melons -- "melon Charentais" : http://www.jacques-briant.fr/medias/MELON_CHARENTAIS_A.JPG -- and grapes -- "chasselas de Moissac" : http://arnaud.aurejac.free.fr/images/chasselas.jpg -- are delicious ; we have also some local apples and pears, disappearing actually because they are not recognized at the EEC level.

HI vandana 7, eating is said to be the most important thing in our daily life And there are countless of delicious food available. Here fruit is our chatting topic. Here in the tropical region we can get the common fruits like banana, papaya, pineapple, watermelon, guava...all the year round. Banana is easy to eat and rich in vitamin and minerals. Therefore I like to take a couple daily. It's rather sweet so it'not healthy to take more. I like to take an apple or a kiwi daily too. These imported fruits are expensive compared to the local ones. No choice for Glove their tasty sweet and sour savor
happy posting

I like kiwi, but like someone else mentioned, they need to be ripe (soft) to taste good - otherwise the slightly bitter seeds are the major flavor. I think certain stores get them.
Avocados also need to be ripe (soft) to taste good. They are great with some salt on them - I once had a cat who liked avocados, but only if it were salted!
I don't know what Jamun is, I'm guessing they don't grow it around here.

Kiwi fruit is not a very special fruit here, so I can buy it anytime. The good ones really taste well. However, if you don't know how to pick them, sometimes the kiwi fruits can be very sour. As to avocado, we don't have it in our country. All of the avocados are imported and therefore it is very expensive. And this is why I haven't eaten it yet. But I'd like to try it one day if its price can be reasonable. Normally we eat pineapple, apple, banana, orange, watermelon, melon, lychee, mango, grapes and so on.
I love China

among the local fruits in our country, may favorites are: mangoes, bananas, papaya, avocado, rambutan, lanzones and any fruit except sour ones. Avocado could be eaten either with sugar only or with milk (preferable condensed milk) as sugar and milk enhance its flavor. Fruits do not only taste great but offer a lot of health benefits, top is its detoxifying effect on our body.

Our countries' climate is almost the same so we get almost the same fruits as in your country. I tasted avocado and I like it when I eat it with chocolate or sugar cause avocado itself tastes bland, like a butter.
Besides of what you tasted, I also tasted peaches, dates, plums, tamarinds, star fruits, jack fruits, and durians. I don't like to eat jack fruit and durian though. They taste very sweets when you ate them ripe but you will get the smell also... they smell... not bad but unusual...

Hi dear,
The above mentioned names are much common in our place as I am also an Indian. I have tasted some rare spicies of jungle fruits which are not available everywhere and not all seasons. They will grow in some parts of the jungles and stay for 1-2 days and taste so good and small in size. Also, here in Mumbai we used to get different fruits (sorry I don't know the names in any language) and I have seen in the market and didn't gone for a try because I have not eaten before and the prices are much higher.
However, I used to each some dry fruits also not knowlingly by its name and some friends gifted when they come back from abroad. One thing I can tell you that I like all kind of fruits and like to have the different fruit jams which are available in the market.
