Hotel Hell

Gordon Ramsey does it again! Who doesn't love Ramsey in the kitchen, shouting profanity, throwing food and dishes and making the staff feel well less than human. Hotel Hell is no exception, maybe a little less profanity and throwing, but it's the same old Gordon Ramsey we feel ourselves drawn to on a weekly basis. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who thought "he's a chef, not a hotel expert". If you thought it like I did, you were wrong as well. He appears to know the end and outs, the do's and don'ts and the what fors, I was impressed. Maybe his world travels, staying in top dollar hotels taught him a little more than what he likes or doesn't like. It doesn't appear to be catering to the taste of just the super rich. Most of the things he points out are things, we all would have issues with, smelly rooms, clutter and bad service. Of course it was only one episode so far, and it may lose it's allure, but I don't it. Gordon seldom disappoints.

I watched the show and wasn't impressed at all. I like Master Chef, Kitchen Nightmares, Hell's Kitchen and the BBC show about his family. I definitely expected more out of Mr. Ramsey. I don't know how he has a stable family, all of these shows and all of his restaurants. I applaud him for doing so well, I just don't see how he can keep up a quality life.

I think he is spread so thin that he can't possibly spend quality time with his wife and children. I'm wondering exactly how much money is enough for a person to live on now, as we know he is paid well. I haven't seen the show yet will watch tonight.

I am watching the show and honestly some of these owners are clueless to running a hotel right. Where is common sense, as treat your staff like they are worthless and of course they want to quit. I don't know why they stayed so long. Hard to believe people just accept being treated so badly when many are paid late.

I heard about it, but don't think I'll bother watching it. I liked Hell's Kitchen when it first started, but the next season.. the profanity was just so bad that there were more bleeps than words spoken!
Then the following season or 2 the contestants started using it and it just go so bad that by the time the bleeps were all run through.. I forgot what was being said!
Profanity doesn't make a show better. It just makes the writers have less to write and the actors, less to learn.
I watched a few of his resturant restore shows.. forget the name... but they were pretty good and not as much profanity, but I got bored with them.
So, no, I don't think I will watch this one. TO me the cooking shows lately have just gotten out of hand.. to many unqualified contestants. Just cause a person can grill hamburgers good... doesn't mean they should be a chef!

I watched the show last night and wondered how in the world would he know about hotels, too. But they do serve food there and besides he's probably done some hotel staying in his lifetime too and knows whats good or bad. He does know how to identify with the way people do things wrong in their businesses period. As long as it has something to do with food anyways. He does make good entertainment. I know I wouldn't have the guts to do and say what he does to them to get them "straight".

It seems we will have the Hell Double Feature presented by Gordon Ramsay on Mondays for a few weeks with this show and Hell's Kitchen. You also can't forget about the other show he's on, MasterChef.
I thought like you did that he wouldn't have much expertise with hotels, but it appears he does know a lot from his frequent stays at hotels around the world. I didn't watch yesterday's show but I decided to watch tonight to see how it is.
