My sister is 62 years old and I am 64. I just found her after searching for 7 years. We just met in June and had a wonderful reunion. We are trying to make up for lost time. She and I were adopted to separate families in the 1950's. But, I just kept looking. I want to encourage anyone who is searching for someone to KEEP LOOKING. What a reward when you find them. My sister did not even know I existed until I actually called her in September 2011. I had known since 2005 when I had my adoption records unsealed. I guess maybe not everyone would have a good experience when searching for someone. I know I was concerned that she would not want to talk to me because she had never known me. But the more we talked the closer we got to each other. We found out that we knew a lot of the same people and that we may have even played together as children but didn't know we were sisters. What an exciting adventure. I would love to talk with you about your experiences in finding a relative!

You are so right! It is never too late unless we die first. Family is so very important - we have both been blessed by our reunion and plan to make the best of our years to come! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! :)

I can only encourage those who may be missing someone or have lost contact with someone to do all that is in their power to reunite. I know that not all reunions are happy ones, but we never know until we try! I am so-o-o-o glad that I kept looking!

WOW! This is really amazing. It had been a long time of being apart and searching for your sister. A sister's bond is indeed for a lifetime. Happy reunion to the both of you.

Thank you for your best wishes. It was the happiest day of my life the day I finally got to see her again. So much has happened in both of our lives but you are correct in saying a sister's bond is for a lifetime. We both had been missing something in our lives and now we will spend the rest of our lives catching up! What fun!!!!
