Every time I attend a seminar from any networking company, they always state this quote "it's really good to be your own boss". As an employee, sometimes that short message plays in my mind. I sometimes thought if nobody became rich in working or becoming a plain employee so how can I become rich if I am just an employee? Yes, I have talent and skills but knowing the fact that I'm just an employee made me tired sometimes. I don't know where to start to earn much, but all I know is that diligence would result to prosperity. Being self-employed starts on being employed. How about you do you have some tips to give on how to prosper?

Hi Bethel,
I don't think there's a "right or wrong" formula to becoming self-employed. I would suggest you go to your local bookstore and check books that help you figure what you are really good at, and things you like to do. Once you find out what you both like to do and are good at then you can start to figure out how to turn that talent and passion into a money making business.
I would also suggest you do whatever it is part-time or on the side while you are working so you'll have a steady income. Unless, you have friends and relatives willing to contribute money to your "dream."

I think it very much depends on the type of person that you are. Some people would love to be self employed, but it is also the kind of thing that might well drive other people mad. So there is no way to say how you would like it until you've actually tried it out for yourself. I am self employed, and I like it quite a bit. The only thing that is a little bit of a pain is the fact that you're working from home so don't see many other people apart from your family. But I can't complain from a financial point of view because I am earning more money right now than I would have been able to if I'd got a job where I wasn't able to be my own boss.
