There could be more than one reason why some people don't receive nutritional credit for the calcium they consume. Some people try to get their calcium from dairy; however, a percentage of people are lactose intolerant or experience food sensitivities when they consume dairy. Some folks decide to take a calcium supplement but it might not be as simple as, just doing that. Nutrients are like members of a baseball team. They're designed to work together and compliment each other. If you, as a spectator, went to a baseball game and the only player that showed up to play was the catcher, the game would be canceled. In order to absorb and assimilate calcium in a supplement form you also need: Vitamins A, C, D and E. Boron Essential fatty acids Lysine (which is an amino acid) Magnesium Manganese Phosphorus You can get a lot of those nutrients from a good multi-vitamin. You might also want to buy Calcium Citrate with vitamin D3. Some foods that are a great source of calcium are dairy, salmon and carrots. Please feel free to respond and make your contribution to this discussion. Thanks!
