Special precaution to save oneself from the axe of deletion in mylot?

I have observed that discussions mostly deleted for violation of terms and conditions of mylot are included in money related topics. If you even go through the guidelines of mylot very sincerely and minutely as to ‘what to do’ and ‘what not to do’ and then start your own discussion or respond to any discussion, you would often see it deleted on the same charge. So special precaution has to be taken while starting or responding to money related topics. This is my personal observation. What’s about you? Have you observed any thing else?

Haha. Right. It has been a common affair for me to receive notification e-mails from myLot saying "that your answer has been deleted as the question it was under has been removed". This affect our earnings too. Since we get credited for them and later adjusted with our earnings when the same gets removed. Its sometimes hard to judge what is within guidelines and what is not. Good luck!

"Its sometimes hard to judge what is within guidelines and what is not."
Amen! Which is why mylot should tell us why when they delete something rather than just that it got deleted. Guidelines are not always clear and it would help tremendously if mylot would just tell us exactly what it was that got something deleted. It frustrates me when I ask someone the why of something only to be told "read the guidelines".

Haha. I never asked the guidelines to be told to me. I get notifications from myLot, I read them careful and understand what went wrong. Henceforth I try to keep them in mind. I'm learning from my mistakes. I'm new here (6 days old) sometimes they skip my mind. But I'm trying and getting better. Good day!

I often get perplexed by the terms and conditions. From my own experience, I can say that it has so happened that my discussion has been deleted but I have repeated it a few days with a slight change in the representation and it stays still now. Thus it is very confusing and is applicable mostly for the money related discussions. It may be that some mylotters often post the link of any site for own promotion. But by common sense, it can easily be ascertained that such a discussion would definitely be deleted and I never respond to such any discussion with direct posting of a link for joining as a referral. But often I find the discussion to fulfill all the criteria but with utter surprise, get a notification from mylot that it has been deleted as the original question has been deleted. So I think mylot should be more clear in this respect.

surely at sometime you h ave read the guidelines and known not to include links for money making stuff so why flirt with disaster?
not at all smart. instead of just posting blindly go bac k read again and again the dos and do nots of making discussions? if you were traveling on an unfamiliar road and you saw a sighn telling
you that a bridge was out so take the substitute road, would you
just go ahead and drive on the road with the bridge out rather than avoid the bridge being out? surely guidelines are the same they warren you what not to do in making a post ?

doctordidi I still maintain that reading the guidelines and the gAQ's is the best way to avoid having posts deleted. if you
learn the dos and do nots of making discussions you will save
almost all of your work. not reading them asks to ha ve
your posts deleted as you did not know what not to post.
sure maybe some might be worded better bu t I have had only 3 deleted in five years, I goofed got mad at an insulting my lotter
and ret urned her fire so it was my fault as I knew better.
as for money related topics again just please read the do nots of making discussions.

Absolutely!
It is just as easy to make a money-making topic as it is any other if we are aware of the guidelines.

hi diana y es as with the guidelines we have a sort of map of what we can put in our discussions and what we shou ld not do in our
discussions. I have often mentioned I love mysurvey.com for making extra money and I never had my discu ssion deleted as I gave no links just offered my own experience. I see the guidelines as warning u s of certain things just as a road sign would tell us that the bridge on our road was out so take xyz road instead. yet some would ignore that sign and guess what end up in a sandy creek bottom with their car stuck in the sand. lol if happened to my dad who refused to take the other road. sadly my mom and my younger sister and I were in the car too.that cost my dad almost a thousand dollars to g et a crane to pull him out and a tpw t ruck to get our car to a garage for repairs. it just pays so well to follow the directions in stead.

hi Didi,
thanks for the response, that is not thing i think, i too have fully active in this site two year back, then i am writing nearly 4 articles/discussion daily and i am not taking any precautions about writing, so times it may happen some words coming from our hand,so we cannot remove that words, because i am not checking the matter after, writing a discussion or response, have a nice day.

There are many "don'ts" in the discussion guidelines. Also very important to know the experience of a case by case.

I have gone through all the 'dos' and "don'ts" in the discussion guidelines and that too very carefully after deletion of many of my posts. But still I am confued, obviously, less than before when I was a victim of deletion almost every day. No doubt, that picture has gone but still I am not totally from it. Still it happens off and on and I have now taken it as granted.

Well, talking about making money from somewhere else is not a good thing to post. If I mention that I make money from other sites, I never mention the name of the site. And I never post links. But they also do not like discussions that are like poll type questions. I have noticed lots of discussions being deleted. I have had a few of them deleted myself. but not in a while. We just have to be more careful.

Thats correct. But I don't really post links. I know we could post a link to a page that supports the topic. But I also do not mention the name of another site. Not because we're not allowed, just because I do not want to look like I am soliciting. I try to stick to the guidelines the best I can.

h i doctor didi do not respond to poll type discussions s uch as
"Do you all like special topping on pizza?" thats polling people
also avoid duplicates, avoid ones where a joke or a game
is the whole discussion or a recipe is given as a discussion, also avoid the discussions about milestones like he or she is celebrating as this breaks the rules.avoid discussions patently insulting mylotters. avoid
a discussion thats a game also.avoid discussions that are one line of something like aukiyh0-097yy-=766 as thats definitely a rule breaker
also avoid a discussion mostly in foreign words as we are supposed to be
made only in English.[

I 'observe' lots of newbies just asking questions and thinking that is going to be okay. Even people that have been here for years do the same thing. Now if they would take a question that they want to ask and turn it around and into a discussion they wouldn't have a problem. But they can't seem to do that. And most of the discussion that are negative about Mylot are deleted also. If members would pay attention they wouldn't have a problem. Only ends up hurting them.

No..mine have always been removed because they were considered to be poll or games. I honestly thought poll means there is something like election where two or more options exist and responder has to select from one of them. But interpretation varies apparently.

Vandy take a look here:
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/poll
where you will see that 'poll' = "a sampling or collection of opinions on a subject, taken from either a selected or a random group of persons, as for the purpose of analysis." which is equivalent to "survey".

and if one takes the poll title down and makes this a personal'thing then give
her or his opooinon and asks for"your t ake fellow mylotters" I have not had a
one of that ever deleted as I turned it in to a personal topic not a poll or a survey.it can be done easily too.

Yes friend you are right we should take special precaution because now time is money and we spend the time for creating or responding and if deleted means lost the time and money both. Yesterday I loose my 7 responses. No I want to respond only on old discussions. Not interested in new discussion.

Well, I think that the Guidelines on Mylot, it is explicitly written as: What can be done, and what does not can do.
The wording is clear enough.
The fact is that many people (at least I believe this), come here on Mylot, with the intention of making fast bucks, and guidelines, they are not even read!
And then if that people behave in this way, despite repeated warnings of notification, then it should not be surprised if their discussions are often removed.

alberello I do agree as I find the guidelines easy to follow
and keep myself out of trouble that way. .some just blu ff and say the guidelines are not clear when its more than
evident that they never have even read them. some adu lts think its wrong for us older ones to suggest that they should just read
the guidelines.

That's a good observation there. As long as we adhere to the Do's and Dont's found in the guidelines section, deletion is far fetched, I believe. I also observe that - "racism" is also prohibited. I remeber answering to a certain question regarding that one,the discussion was deleted even there's a lot of responses already. So, there, I think we should stay as wholesome as ever and be respectful. Thanks for reminding me this also.
