What are some great organizations to volunteer for?

HOPE Worldwide (http://www.hopeww.org/) hands down! i been around people working there, and volunteered a couple times myself. This real charity and real hearts in it over there.

Hello Last Brother. I just checked your profile and noticed you live in the USA. So first of all you could volunteer for WWF (World Wildlife Fund), the biggest environmental NGO in the world. If you want something different, the ASPCA is international, but deals with domesticated animals (pets) and their welfare. If you want something smaller, there is Save The Frogs (international as well). And if you want something local, the Big Cat Rescue, in Tampa Florida would be great in my view. Other interesting environment NGO's would include: The Nature Conservancy, Center for Biological Diversity, Greenpeace and the list can go on. An ecological community where you could find more such organizations is care.com, maybe you could try there. All of the above are related to environment and wildlife as well as pets. If you want something social, either consider the Red Cross, or something like local organizations for veterans or women rights. Something a little bigger, that has a nice approach to both wildlife, pets and people would be the Jane Goodall Institute.
