How to promote products to clients

I work in a new launched stone trading company. I've been sending promotion letters to new clients for almost 4 months. But I didn't get any orders yet, which is so frustrating. Sometimes I thought maybe I am not aggressive enough, not suitable to do sales work.
Dear friens, do you have any good method for promoting? Any tips?
