Not actually saying a word . Can they express there feelings to you? Can they act that they want something or what they feel? Odie actually response to me when I ask him if he wants to go out. And just stared to me if he don't want. He can bring his ball to me when he wants to play and just snob me when he is not feeling well. He jump to my bed when he is cold and want to be cuddled. Pets can express there selves to us and make us understand what they want.

Of course, I can not say about all the pets but yes dogs can express their feelings to human, It is because most human have their pet dogs. and of course dog have some open mind than other animals. Sometime I have seen the CAT also wanted to express her feeling to go out (one of my friend and I were at her home, and her cat dont want to be at home). the cat doing all thing that she can, she wanted to stop us our conversation. Yeah, our dog too is quite expressive through his actions. When she is hungry, she will surely give a different tone on her bark. More of a high pitch bark. Whenever we arrive home, she will also have a different tone of bark. Also, a different tone which is more pronounced and assertive is given out with strangers. Also, when she is hungry, she would drag her container for food. Also, our dog is sweet and cuddly especially when it is raining with thunder. I remembered a time when she was about to give birht. She signals my mother by biting in some rags and putting it in a suitable place for her to give birth. However, my mother did not realized it that our dog is telling her to put up a nice comfortable lay in for her to give birth.

Odie's wife lay beside me and try to ask to rub her belly because she was about to give birth that time. She went under my bed and put some rugs too, Odie that time was also worried about his wife he keeps back and fort like a worried daddy

Yeah, dogs love to be rubbed in their bellies! Good for you that your dog is a responsible dog dad! I don't know, but our other dog is too naughty to even care about the giving birth of our girl dog. But when the puppies came out, it seems that our male dog is even afraid of getting near them!

Yes! We used to have a black female labrador and she's very expressive when she's hungry, feels too warm, or wants to play. She gets noisy when she wants to say something to us. So, we would always know she is up to something. I miss her.

We sent her to my in-laws' place because we no longer have space for her to run around and be a dog. Plus, she's really getting very noisy and we don't want the neighbors to start complaining.

I do understand my pet's facial expressions on what they want. I also can see sadness on their face when I leave the house. I left them with my mom when I got married because no one will take care of them. and they are indoor dogs. now i have 2 babies who are not used to have them at home. another thing is, they make my mom happy so I left them there. When I visit my mom's house they are very happy to see me. they keep on following me around. one of them who is my closest, even with just her stare I can tell what she wants... wants to be carried, wants to be scratched, wants to eat, wants to sit on my lap, etc.

The last pet I had was a fish and surely the love was one-way. Maybe that is where the expression cold fish comes from. There is no way I could communicate with my fish although I loved them dearly.

I talk to my cat all the time, and she responds most of the time. Mostly it's just with looks, but sometimes I get an audible answer, even though I don't know what it could mean. Lol. (I'm home alone a lot, and I only have my cat to talk to when the internet isn't working.)

All of the pets that we have in our family very much so have their own personalities and all of them talk to me in their own ways. For example, Jasmine will tell me what she wants by pawing at my leg and then going in the direction that she wants to go. Chloe will sit there and look at me until I move in the direction that she wants me to go. Sunshine waits by the door until someone opens it and then she will dart out the door. Peaches will meow at me until I will open the window so that she can go outside and Callie will always cling to me until I give her what she wants.

My pet is full of interaction with us. She has different barks for different situations. If she is hungry she will toss her bowl loud enough for even the neighbours to hear! She will be on her own the whole day except in the afternoon and night when she expects me to give her company while she snoozes away. She will give a mild and gentle bark which is how she shows it. At 6 in the evening every single she will come for her snack.

Being with my dog for five years now, I understand what he wants and not from his behavior. When he barks, it may be to alarm or he wants me to go to him depending on the type of yipe he makes.

My dog makes himself understood very well...Let's me know when he wants his water,or his toy, when I take him to the park,If he is hungry,or thirsty at home,if he wants petting,or to play. Also he seems to know when I need comfort,if i do not feel good,or if I am sad.

yeah, they can really say in their way, we just have to understand our pets. My Lucky, i miss him. Normally he used to stay in the porch when he was grown up. But as soon as it was morning, he was just like my alarm. he used cry and make a sound so different from other dogs. I miss his cry too. If i did not open the front door, he thinks I am backside. So he will run to the back gate and cry the same way. he was actually calling me to open the gate. My God he was some great dog and a hero. I miss my Lucky. Good that your dog is there for you. have a wonderful day.

Oh, I totally agree that pets can get their messages across. If the food bowl is empty the cats hover. If the big water bowl is empty, Nef knocks it around the floor.

Oh yeah, dogs are very smart and can communicate what their needs are real well. My neighbor, who I occasionally dog sit for, says when she wants her dog to come back, she will just yell, "treat" One day I was over there and I saw the dog roaming around in the backyard. I can't remember what we were talking about, but I said the word, "treat" and this dog immediately showed up at the door. She heard me through an open window. My own dogs, they know the word "out" and I believe Penny actually has a time clock in her belly, that is set an hour early, because about an hour before it is time to eat, she comes up to me letting me know by putting her head in my lap or bumping my hand..lol

Lyn, my pet can't talk but always show sign whenever it wants something from me. If it wants to eat or drink, it will move its tail and bark a few times. My dog will always show the sign that i had taught it when it was still young. Wow, dog seems to have a very good brain. It can remember the things that i had taught it even a few years ago. But, my cat seems don't have brain as good as my dog...

Yes, they can. Two cats that I had were very good at communicating what they wanted. They had me trained! One of them wanted to go in the house from the cat yard one day but couldn't jump high enough to the shelf at the window. We were still working on fixing things up for them. So he meowed at me and I looked at him. He stared very hard into my eyes from across the yard then he looked up at the shelf and back to me with that stare. Then back to the shelf again. He did this about 4 times and I realized he wanted to go in but couldn't get there. I went over and held him up to the shelf and he ran right in. They were wonderful little friends. Odie is a very smart little dog. You must be a very good mom to him. They try very hard to communicate with us. It's one of the many reasons we love them so much!
