will the L.A lakers will go for finals for this season? or they will face on play off only, the ball yes it is cycle absolutely the line up of the team were super stars or all stars but how about their bench and support etc. even the program are good and how about the bench players yes! they are part of the team but can they support and sustain the line up or starting line up? not just like Miami is tested the bench and the Big man can play and support the super stars, what if it will just like Chicago team when Rose injured the whole team lost?

I think they have the tools to go to the finals and take it all. That being said they do have to beat some very good teams to get there. I'm not sure they will. It's a long season and a lot of things can happen. A couple key injuries at the wrong time and anyone can be on the outside looking in. As they stand right now they have to get a good season and playoff out of all their star players. Pau Gasol really didn't bring it last year in the playoffs although the Olympics proved that he still has it in him.

yeah its a long season possibly many things can happen just like what happened in sixiers no one could expect them to reach semi last season playoffs, and yet they are still young teams, but not just like LA right now they are all star players in couple years in their carrier and this year Kobe and his team have big expectation for Laker funs to be in the finals. and still they also need a sixth man in the bench to continue and sustain their starting line up.

I definitely think the moves the Lakers made with getting not only Howard but also Nash and Jamison, make them pretty much a lock to getti te Wesrern Conference Finals (barring major injury of course). Assuming this series would be against the Thunder, I think it will be a close and competitive series. While I think the Lakers might have a slight edge, it's difficult to say that without having seen the current team play even 1 second with each other yet. If they do make it to the Finals, I see that the Lakers have some players that would create matchup problems for the Heat. For instance, who will be able to make Steve Nash less of a great facilitator and playmaker? Mario Chalmers? Who will stop Dwight Howard in the post? Joel Anthony? Again, given that situation, I think that NBA Finals would be close and competitive as well.

Yeah that would good stats for LA vs Miami, but in western Conference finals LA vs Thunder who could stop Wrestbrook a guard could penetrate and dunks than steve nash? yet Howard vs Ibaka and Kobe vs Durant, and for this season I hope no one could get major injuries for star players in all teams to have good games and great plays. just like what Happen in Chicago who could imagine they will lost in Sixers, and Clippers Billups. the Lakers might have big adjustment in their balance distribute in those key players and also World peace must need to get back in the track of scoring, just like Miami did, the 3 majoy key players continue to sustain their stats even those past team they have to where they are right now. LA coach need to resolve those things in Going to the Finals.

It's a good point you make about Westbrook. He definitely presents some matchup problems for the Lakers were they to meet in the playoffs. However I do wonder if we are making too big of a deal about matchup problems. The way scouting has advanced over the years, I think that when teams play with bigger gaps in between games and are playing the same opponent over and over again, they can adjust to their tendencies in a variety of ways to make them less effective. While I think that despite this that Westbrook would still have a great series against the Lakers, I do know there's a lot of things the Lakers can do to cover up the defensive weakness of Steve Nash (having Kobe, MWP, and Dwight Howard on your team certainly help matters in this regard).

yeah all team have studies already and those facts and issues about their team specially offense and defensive but its all matter with the head coach decision who to play on the game and how to solve those problems. hmmmp... other wise LAKERS have big chance going to Finals, not until the league will start and we will see the difference of their stats and team play over all. their are also young team who were improving their plays and games, hmmp just like OKC Kevin Durant at the age of 23-24 I think He already push His team to Finals and their would be more of like Him in other teams that the people could not expect thou, maybe Blake Griffin etc...

I would say that the L.A. lakers are the front runner for winning the NBA championship this year. Their team is really stacked and the only reason I could see them not winning would be if one of their new big 3 would be to get injured. Dwight Howard is the only one that I really see being at risk for injury because last year he herniated a disc in his back, he is also probably the most important player on the Lakers right now as well. I think that it might be Boston versus the Lakers in the finals this year because Boston is another team that has gotten a lot of great players in the offseason but I think that the Chicago Bulls are going to be back with a vengenance especially if Derrick Rose can stay healthy.

yeah many people forgotten the Boston team and their team incoming season would be exciting for them to watch only Allen is lost in their team and still they have intact players and good guards. and LA needs have lot of adjustments in their team specially new players are going in them and specially Steve Nash would do what He love to play, just like the coach of Miami did in their key players in their big three they are able to sustain there stats even if they are in one team. and the Bulls need to go on track in the playoffs time and get their vengeance and also they need to improve their bench scoring and reliable big man inside.

i think the Laker will have the big chance to get the champion, as with Howard and Nash, the team is more balance than the big three of Heats. But the team must to handle the problem, how to balance the position of those super-super-stars, and how to separate the ball's control time, the shots? Frankly speaking, i really do not like lots of star gather in an team, in the coming season, there just very few team will attract the focus!

good point because super stars do think they will be the goal to guy in the team and the lakers front line up do have 5 super stars already and they must adjust and make plays not for any one man play but for 5 man play already. yet the problem of the LA in last season was their are no reliable guards and fast break plays big man would not be with them but the power forward and guards to back up kobe in the line.

There's steve nash and Kobe but we can't really say they're the toughest contender for the championship because they're not on their prime anymore. They have tough centers though in Pau and Dwight, which I think is their only advantage.

yet still steve and kobe doing their plays doing great in last season. and still they will adjust to one another just like when lebron and bosh go to miami and still they maintain their stats through out that team.

With all the Laker all-stars, I'm positive that they'll be breeze through the 2nd round easily. As for the Finals, I would much like them to win this year as Steve Nash is not getting any younger. I'd like him to have a championship ring. Basing on their starting five stats, I'd say they can go all the way. But the games aren't played on paper..so we'll just have to wait and see.. (I hope they win though :p)

Yeah your right, we can't say about other team either cause all of the team of the NBA are doing good preparation and recruitment for their team and still trades of player are still approachable anything happens during the season.

Well, I do know yet who will be in the NBA finals. I am predicting Miami Heat versus Los Angeles Lakers because of experience and depth. There are several teams can be there to upset both team. There will be a Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, San Antonio Spurs and even new team Brooklyn Nets. The ball is only rolling. Let us see what will be happen after regular season ends.

NO NO NO and no for the finals , i honestly think the L.A Laker franchise has went on to another life , those golden days are gone , Its Kobes team and if hes not happy no one is , Obviously the clevland coach is on contract so this year he didnt do so hot , so this season and next he better pull out all the bells and whistles or its the AXE for him . Howard HYPE! he might put up numbers but i dont think he'll make a difference , he never made a difference in Orlando . Everyone will look to OKC this season and Chicago as well , Miami is in 3rd place everyoen is happy for them yada yada but now i think this season is going to be a lil more speical between those 3 teams .

no one could tell and no one could predict on it but rather expectation of the fans and those commentator and analyst in the game. yet the LAKErs franchise need to gamble to those players and put their trust to have good games in next season yet as always those three team you mention are always in front line to be expected just like also last season but no one could expect that chicago has fail in play offs, and Sixers and go throuh the next round. And still those Line up of Lakers or even starting five could have good stats or even can go through finals if no one will suffer injuries just like Rose in Chicago. hmmp yes Kobe will as always will be the main man in the LAkers and those four are supporting act in the game and etc. anything could happen in this season many things will happen and many teams are getting stronger just like Clippers Sixers Memphis etc..

with dwight howard, steve nash and of course kobe bryant, i think they can go to playoffs but finals is a bit far for the lakers with miami heat, okc thunder standing in the way.But this season will be kobe's last season in the NBA , i think he will give all out for a spot in the NBA finals. So in my opinion there's a big chance for them to head for the finals.

yes definitely and still World Peace can contribute also in the team but still bench contribution and balance on the team. Dwight Howard or even Bynum still has no difference either small edge difference only on their stats. or it my be their need of the point Guard and bench points. Many are young team and going stronger right now just like OKC but without Fisher in their team they cant go on through the Finals. and for the incoming season playoffs would be exciting games to be watch.
