I wanna use emoticons

Ever feel that a comment you posted may not come across as you meant it? I wonder myself. Sometimes I could be laughing away typing, submit then reading it later I think if someone took it the wrong way. I can't wait to use emoticons cuz I think I might be understood a little better?? There will be lots of goofy faces in mine ;-) Anyway any of you feel the same - do comments come across right without emoticons?

I don't feel that my response will be understood otherwise unless I use the emoticons or smileys, but I'm desirous of using them for fun. We still need to reach 200, before we can even thing of using them. Haha. I wish you good luck, so that you may reach quickly. Good day!

Are you suggesting that those of us who can already use them are making 'goofy' faces at you right now?

I do like the emotions, but I don't really use them that often,,I really try to make my post and responses as clear as possible so they can understand my point....

That would be the way to go but I've been in the habit of joking around for so long I don't think in a chatting mode I could always come across clearly. Now when I have to write business letters I can do it, but here....

I could hardly wait to be able to use emoticons myself. Now I can.I'm so happy.Next I want to be able to copy and paste. There have been so many articles I would like to link and start a discussion on but entering links by hand is just a little too labor intensive for me. Granted my inability to type anything accurately doesn't help. Relax though it won't be long. Then you'll be stuck right where I am.

Now see the emoticon helped there cuz at first it sounded like a lecture. But then again the last sentence (thanks for sharing...) was so gentle and nice it made it sound better too. ;-)

Yes using emoticons can express your feeling better. sometime you write down something, which for u is funny, but someone else may that it seriously. but when u add emoticons to it.. the other person can understand you better. it also so much fun using them. i just love using them all the time, when texting, Facebook, emails, etc. :)

That seemed to be the reason why mylot added the emoticons, to help people better understand the tone of the person's words. I think it does help a lot. I'm glad they limit the amount of emoticons people can use in one response though.

If you need or want emoticons to get your point across, you can keep on using the keyboard versions until the training wheels come off...

And as the Lamb Mentioned earlier, you can only use 3 on each post you make, whereas you can knock yourself out using keyboard ones...

I don't really use emoticons anyway. I guess it really does make it easier to put a point across with some kind of emoticon with a smiley face. I don't know if Mylot gives extra money for you for putting emoticons in your discussions or replies. I hope people don't abuse it and put a whole bunch of emoticons in their discussions or replies. It really can be distracting it they use the emoticons too much.

There were times that we may feel the responses we're getting means something else, so putting an emoticon sometimes can help us realize they're just making fun. I love commenting with emoticons too, although there were times I don't.

I am looking forward to using those emoticons too. I doubt I will be better understood using them but they do bring a smile to my face sometimes when I read a post. I think we all have a hard time being understood, due to the different language skills, and cultural intrepretations. I normally, try to see the positive in each post, even if I don't fully understand the tthought the writer is trying to convey.
