I've applied on scribie, a website where you transcribe audio files, mostly interviews, and you get paid for it. I received a notification already that I can take the test. All accepted applicants are required to transcribe one test file, this will determine if you'll be come a transcribe for scribie or not. I've already tried taking the test twice, but had to cancel both times because the audio quality is just bad. I want to know from people who works here too, if is it really this hard? Can you give me any tips on how I can pass the test? Thanks, any input will be much appreciated.

Hi, I am with Scribie, although I don't take that much assignments lately because the audio quality is bad. For your test, always choose good audio quality because you will be graded. Be sure to download Express Scribie. It is very useful, because you can play incomprehensible audio on slow mo. Trnascribe it in MS Word and copy paste your transcribed copy to the box. It is actually easy and the pay is low (hehe). It's like one dollar for a six minute transcript which you transcribe for almost an hour. I have also had instances where I got a 2 grade (BAD). The beauty of the system though is you can dispute your grade if you think they made an error in giving you a low grade. After 10 transcriptions with an average grade of 3.25, you will be promoted to a reviewer. I am a reviewer now. You can either review (TAT time is less, like around 20 minutes only) or transcribe.
Don't be too scared to take the test. You can always cancel anyway if the audio quality is bad.

Yes I was able to download Express Scribe already, but the files are just crappy. I was thinking that for those kinds of audio quality $1 is not enough to compensate for the stress and the confusion you might feel after transcribing. lol But I'm still hoping that there will be more good files soon, because it's really something that I want to try. But thank you for your post, you've been really helpful.

I always chose what to transcribe. Maybe, you should just wait. Sometimes, there are really good files.

This is so new to me and I am happy to have found this discussion about scribie.
I always wanted to try transcription tasks but I can't find anything online that's legit and paying. But upon hearing about scribie, I must give this a try. Thanks for sharing kulisap...
