Red female cats are more rare than males, so I wouldn't be surprised if 'she' was a 'he' either, but there is a possibility. My ex-boyfriend had a red female cat too, they called her 'terra' because of her colour. She was a very sweet kitty, unfortunatly she was allready pretty old and passed away. I allways loved the name though, if you like it feel free to use it :)

It can be a female if the dad was red or creme and the mom was a red, creme, tortoiseshell, blue/creme, or calico. It all just depends on the color of the parents.

Well, since 'she' is a marmalade tabby, I would be quite surprised if 'she' weren't a 'he'! I had a cat just that colour who was a very fine male. We called him Chips because that is just the colour of the perfect chip (which you might call a 'fry' or 'french fry' - 'chips' as in 'fish and chips' in England) and fish and chips was the first meal we had after he arrived. Yours has very pronounced 'rabbit ear' markings just above his/her nose, so 'Rabbit' or 'Bunny' would seem a good name. Have you read the T.S.Eliot poem on 'The Naming of Cats'? The naming of cats is a difficult matter, It isn't just one of your holiday games; You may think at first I'm mad as a hatter When I tell you a cat must have three different names. First of all, there's the name that the family use daily, Such as Victor, or Jonathan, George or Bill Bailey-- All of them sensible everyday names. There are fancier names if you think they sound sweeter, Some for the gentlemen, some for the dames; Such as Plato, Admetus, Electra, Demeter-- But all of them sensible everyday names. But I tell you, a cat needs a name that's particular, A name that is peculiar, and more dignified, Else how can he keep up his tail perpendicular, Or spread out his whiskers, or cherish his pride? Of names of this kind, I can give you a quorum, Such as Munkustrap, Quazo or Coripat, Such as Bombalurina, or else Jellyrum-- Names that never belong to more than one cat. But above and beyond there's still one name left over, And that is the name that you will never guess; The name that no human research can discover-- But The Cat Himself Knows, and will never confess. When you notice a cat in profound meditation, The reason, I tell you, is always the same: His mind is engaged in rapt contemplation Of the thought, of the thought, of the thought of his name: His ineffable effable Effanineffable Deep and inscrutable singular Name.

She's a classic red tabby and could very well be female. In order for a female to have the red color the dad has to be either red or creme. The mom can be red, creme, tortoiseshell, blue-cream, or calico. The reason you get more red males is because a mom cat of any of these colors can have a red male with any other color of male cat but in order to get a red female the male has to have the red gene (which is also carried in cremes). So, you see red females really aren't that rare, they just occur less often than red males.

She appears to be very innocent, but she appears to be like a Tiger. So Tigress would be a good name. Then what about Pale face, Stripe, Slit eyes, Slow coach etc. Also consider the common names like Kitty, Fluffy and all that. But since I am from Sri Lanka why not name it "Poosa" which is the Sinhala name for Cat.

We had kittens like that once, little orange tigers. Two identical ones, one boy and one girl. They were Cheesie, and Dink. (slang volleyball terms) That same month, I found out I was pregnant, and we decided to give the kittens to another home that could give them undivided attention. They also did not get along with my other cat (that we still have, 12 years now!). Wow, sorry for the novel! Beautiful kitty though! Have fun!
