contrary to what i wrote in my twitter account, i didn't lost my celphone in a druken stupor. i wasn't drunk, i was hung-over. two different things there people. yes, the cause might have been the same, that being drinking one too many bottles of beer and one too many shots of vodka and tequila, and one too many shots of rum cola but yeah, i was hung-over on the way to work and most likely my cell phone dropped from my pocket.
now, let me be the first to tell you that what i lost was an old model phone that my mom gave me. i wasn't too big about all this cell phone brouhaha. i got my first cell phone as a gift from my folks. me and my sister got the same model. if i remember correctly, it was a nokia. not unlike others who constantly upgrade and change their phones into the latest unit, i clung to my old nokia phone as long as i can. i finally decided to give it up to a man who brandished a knife at me to get my phone. i was happy to obliged and i threw the phone at him and then threw the battery outside the speeding vehicle and tried to see if he'll jump and risk life and limb to get the battery. well, he didn't exactly jump but he did alight from the vehicle when it stopped to grab the battery and then he ran away. i didn't give chase because honestly, the phone was long overdue for a change. after that incident, i didn't get a phone for a good five years or six. i was one of the minority who didn't fuss about load credits, subscription plans, or batteries going dead. anyway, my folks, my workmates, and ultimately my boss in my previous work bugged me to get a phone for convenience so i gave it. again, i got another phone from my mom. it was a flip-top motorola that i wanted because i saw it in a dr. dre music video. i was and still is a dr. dre fan so owning a phone that dr. dre featured in his music video made me feel like dr. dre myself minus the millions of cash, properties, and adoring fans. that didn't bothered me because i had dr. dre's phone!!! that was enough for me. well, that phone got broken in half by my psychotic ex-girlfriend. did i say she was psychotic and she broke my cell phone in half? so after that, i broke her heart into bits of tiny pieces and resolved to get a new phone. so i did get new one, a samsung flip-top phone. this one lasted for another good five to seven years before it got destroyed during one of the worst typhoons in our country. look up typhoon ondoy and you will know what i mean. so after that phone, i got an old sony ericsson phone. it was a p800 model. now this was a favorite phone of mine. next to the dr. dre phone that i got. i used this until it just fell apart. i left the phone along with its chargers and headsets in a recycle bin. after this sony ericsson phone, i got another phoen from my mom. it was her old nokia phone. it is so old, i couldn't even find pictures of it in the internet. i kid you not. i think it is part of the n70 series but i'm not so sure. anyway, that was the phone that most likely fell out of my pocket in the cab on my way to work in my hung-over state. i swear that i thought that i had left it at home.
anyway, so with that fifth cell phone, i'm back in the market looking for a new one. i don't want a fancy phone, something that can send and receive texts and make and receive calls is enough for me. haven't really decided but i have looked at some product reviews plus i've asked my friends for some recommendations. i'm in no rush to get a phone. seriously.
anyway, my fellow mylotters, how many phones have you gone through in your life so far? i'm sure there are crazy and weird stories out there so please feel free to share.
cheers and happy mylotting!

Couldn't count how many phones I have had in the past now. I haven't lost a single one though and none of them were broken either every time I gave them up. I change phone every two years and my dear brother is always willing to adopt them. He was actually the one using all my phones till they broke down.
I'm not psychotic and definitely I won't try to break your phone. And darn you haven't even given me your number yet.

yo goddess!
i thought goddesses don't use cellphones, don't you just teleport to places you want to go or talk to mere mortals through telepathy or something?
'... my dear brother is always willing to adopt them.' - i'll be willing to adopt a cellphone of yours. possibly the closest thing i'll ever get to touching a goddess such as you.
'i'm not psychotic and definitely i won't try to break your phone.' - there's a lie in here somewhere, not sure if its the 'i'm not psychotic' part or the one wherein you are saying you won't break my phone. lol!
'and darn you haven't given me your number yet.' - are you serious with this request goddess? never in my life did i thought that a goddess would ask for my number. lol!
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

i'll leave it to your imagination what will happen if you suddenly appeared right in front of me while i'm showering.
email me your number and i'll text mine.
psychotic is actually a curious thing for me. i rate women by their psychotic to sexiness ratio. i see it in their eyes. if the eyes show that the woman is inclined to be more psychotic than sexy, i tend to pass. if it is just even, i'll likely take a chance with the girl.
since i haven't seen your eyes personally, i really can't give my psycho-sexy rating for you goddess. give it time... give it time.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!

Like you I also seldom change my cell phone, in fact, I think I only changed 4 or 5 times since I learned to use one, I'm more concerned with my line or post paid plan that's rather quite expensive so I can make as much calls and text as I want, in fact I never experienced buying load ever since I bought a mobile phone. I remember my first phone, a nokia 3310 that i bought brand new, lasted a very long time ( around 6 years) and i still got to resell, then there's the small expensive Nokia that I lost cause I got drunk in a billiard hall, I slept on a bench and afterwards i ate in a burger on a stand, and that's when i noticed my phone was missing together with my voters I.D. LOL, good thing I did not lose my pool cue haha....

hi louievill.
yeah, i'm in the same boat as you. i wouldn't change my phone just to get the latest model. i'd rather use the funds in something else.
lol at your story!!! i bet there are millions and millions of similar stories wherein people lose their cellphone sin a drunken stupor or in my case hung-over state.
good thing you did not lose your cue stick though. i'd imagine the cue stick to be much more valuable than the cellphone you lose that time.
thanks for participating and happy mylotting louievill!!!

your cue stick might be your key to a more successful life!!! lol!
you following the world cup of pool being played here in the country? i've been able to watch the matches on tv although i'm planning to watch any of the semi-final or perhaps even the final match live if my schedule would permit it.
cheers and have fun playing pool louievill!!!

Yup, my cue stick is my magic wand haha, it's a good one, it's better than the expensive made in the U.S. brand but is actually made in another Asian country LOL!, My cue stick is top of the line made in Pampanga province where most of our champions like Efren and Django hails I would presume that even the most expensive brands are made there and foreign companies would just paste their stickers, yes I'm willing to lose 2 high end cell phone in exchange for my cue that was custom made for me.

That was really so painful when you lost something that is really important to you. Ive also experienced this when a pickpocket got my phone in a public transportation and I cried when i got home.

it wasn't that painful and i wasn't a victim of a pickpocket. i got robbed once of my cellphone and i threw it out of the jeep and let the robber alight the jeep to get my cellphone without him realizing that i threw the battery at a different direction.
the incident where i struck the robber with my mom's old analog phone doesn't count cause i prevented the robber from getting away and if i remembered correctly he was jailed for it. score one for the good guys!!! crime does not pay!!!
lol!
thanks for participating and happy mylotting!!!

Okay, after reading your short story finally I got the chance to write my response
I never lost or broke a mobile phone.
It's my kids who always does.
For the record, my first mobile phone was that analog type and it's Motorola -hehehe (it's kinda heavy)
My first mobile phone that have both text and call apps(no camera yet) was Nokia- I also forgot the model (duh) and my daughter broke it.
My next phone was Samsung and my son broke it (fine)
My daughter lost 3 new phones already and it takes 2 years before I bought her a new one.
The last phone she lost is just a month old (a very new one and new model of Samsung)
My son lost his Blackberry early this year
My phone is 5 years old and I don't have any plan of changing to new model.
I am satisfied with it and the 5 mega pix camera is perfect for my hobby.

Hi
A 5MP phone is fine for me. However, I have this phone that has been with me for two years now and I promised myself that if ever it break down or got lost, I would never get one again.
I am used to having no cellphone, it only impede in my work when calls come in and I am pulled out at a moment's notice in the middle of an important project.
All in all, I really have no positive experiences with having communication lines except lots of headaches from crank callers and overbearing superiors. I'd rather go offline, let them come to me office or to my house if they want me.
Surely, I will survive without a cellphone or an internet connection.

@jaiho, you must admit, it is a good story. that's one of my talents...i'm a good story-teller! lol! you have very careless kids then! just kidding! i'm sure they didn't get their carelessness from you! lol!
yeah, i remember those analog phones from motorola. my mom got one of those as well. it looked like something you'd use to shave ice. i kid you not, i used one to hit a robber and the cellphone did its job. it broke in half and broke the robber's skull!!! good times,i tell you!!! good times!!! guess what the robber was trying to steal? my mom's cellphone... the robber got what he want. fool!!! your kids are prone to losing their phones eh? might be awhile until my daughter asks for her own phone but i doubt if she'll get the latest model from me. she'll probably a hand me down from me with strict rules at that in using her cellphone. hahahahahaha!!! i thought of getting a blackberry for my new phone but decided against it. might likely get an iphone4 but there were no stocks at the store that i inquired. there are rumors that iphone5 will be released by the last quarter so i might wait for that instead. so far, this phone that i'm using is good enough for me as i do not find happiness in owning and using the latest phone model. i'm old school when it comes to stuff like cellphones and such. not a big fan of camera and video phones as well. i'd rather have music in my phone so there.
@rog0322, those were my exact same thoughts... 'i am used to having no cellphone,it only impede in my work when calls come in and i am pulled out at a moment's notice in the middle of an important project.' although, more often that not, my 'important' projects are not that important. lol! i do not have experiences with crank callers (don't you mean 'prank' callers?) and overbearing superiors. usually, i'm the prank caller and the overbearing superior although i'm lessened my 'prank-ish' and overbearing ways! lol! going offline is an option but i doubt if it i'll go that route. technology is such an integral part of our daily lives that i doubt if we will be the same again without our cellphones, computers, ipads, ipods, PDAs, and what not. so sad what has become with humanity! we have lost it i tell you!!! we have lost it!!!
anyway, cheers and thanks for participating!!!
happy mylotting to both of you!!!

that happens,no one can expect us to be safe all the time,i have lost my cell phone enormous no of times like on more than 5 occasions, one while travelling abroad, while chatting and even in restrooms.that mainly occurs due to our carelessness even though we cant be blamed for it at times.sometimes the work stress and reaching a place on time kills us making us to misplace it in case of emergency.so the device has to be little bigger that is what i feel.but i am sure that wont lose it anymore because nowadays i am wearing neckcollar attached to my cellphone ,that makes it a easier and better option to stick with it always

hi there.
good to know that you've taken active steps to ensure that you keep your cellphone with you at all times with the neck collar. perhaps, this is something that i'll do in the future.
thanks for sharing natliegleb and happy mylotting!!!

Your story of losing so many mobile phones through your life is so terrible . I just lost my mobile phone an hour ago at the middle of the field near my neighborhood while I was running after my dog.
The mobile phone just jumped away from my pocket and after I noticed , it was too late.
I went to the field and called it 7 times but I didn't find it. Someone probably found it and turned it off because my lost mobile phone couldn't receive more incoming calls.
All I can do now is to call to the Orange customer service and ask them to make my phone with no calls so no one can enjoy it.
Now , this is the second time I lost my mobile phone this year. I just want to take a string and tie my mobile to the pocket or the pants so even if it falls , I will notice immediately.
What can one do to prevent losing the mobile phone ? Many people just can't afford losing the mobile phone !!

hi stringer321.
like what i wrote above, i'll likely attach my cellphone to a chain. did this before with my wallet and even watch. i had a wallet chain and a watch chain. some people were impressed, other found it weird. those that found it weird though saw the functionality of having a wallet chain and a watch chain when i explained it to them.
might use the same for my cellphone but i still have to find a matching chain for my current cellphone.
cheers and happy mylotting strigner321!!!

hi chum.
thanks for the advice. no worries, lesson learned. although, i doubt if i won't be bringing my cellphone. i'll most likely just secure my cellphone while i'm still sober.
good to know that you haven't lost a cellphone yet and instead your mom and your younger sister get to use your previous cellphones. that's making the most out of your cellphones indeed.
cheers and happy mylotting!!!
