I am not much worried about the darkness becuase my father sleep beside me. So he gives me the power and the energy to stay away all the fears from me.
Don't you make any one to sleep beside you ?

Hey wonderboy
For me, nope... I don't have a problem sleeping with the lights on or off... And if anyone switched it on during my sleep I will not be disturbed too. If in case I was awaken with a sudden glow of the light, I'd still be able to go back to sleep.

Me neither. It becomes a habit to me that the lights should be turned off before sleeping. With lights on I think I cannot sleep no matter how sleepy I am. I cannot also sleep when I heard noises in the background. Any sound that coming from the TV, radio or even people speaking in a low voice will never get me to sleep. That's why in our room, i see to it that me and my wife are really into the sleeping mode before we turn-off the lights for a good nights sleep.

Hi Fulltank, I too can not sleep well if there are noises from TV or some thing like that. But I prefer to sleep with slow melody musics. I really love them .

Hi Hujing, yes there should be a good atmosphere for persons like me to have a good sleep. And so I prefer to sleep with the slow music on so that I may fall into the sleep smoothly .

I would be crazy if i sleep with light on. I will be annoyed a lot by it. When i'm in dormitory, some roomates stay up late and with a light on. This makes me sleepless all ningt. And what's worse, my temper becomes bad if i go through this for several times in row. And some research also shows sleep with light on can do some harm to health and can't have a sweet night. So my suggestion is no matter you can adapt to it or not, the best way is to turn the bulb light off. What's more, it can save some energe and make some contribution to our envinroment. A good question and wish you also have a happy day.

I can sleep with whether or not the lights are on- What really poses a problem for me is when lights are flickering with varying degrees of brightness. My mother occasionally has a habit of turning on the television to watch in the same room I'm sleeping in, and the way the light tends to flicker from bright to dark to bright again makes it nearly impossible for me to fall asleep.
On the other hand, I can fall asleep relatively quickly in the middle of the day in a really bright room. Same for one that's dark.

Hello Quetzhal, yes flickering lights are also very annoying for me. Whenever I noticed flickering lights, I may tell them to turn off the television or else I may watch TV with them on that night .

I used to sleep years with lights on. I used to read books before I went to sleep in my bed, there fore I fell asleep often while reading the books with lights on. Thus I got used to sleep with lights on. I have no difficulty now going to sleep with lights on.

Hello mikej143, if the lights are on I try my maximum to get into sleep like covering the whole body by blanket and anything. But I can't even get into the sleep. I wonder why it is like that !

When I was very young, I found it very difficult to sleep with the lights on. Now with age, if I am tired, I sleep irrespective of the fact whether the lights are on or not. So now I really do not bother, though I do switch off the lights before I go to sleep if possible.
Cheers!
Ram

Wonder, i can't sleep with the light on. I usually prefer to sleep in the dark or with the dim light. Since my child didn't like to sleep in the dark, i prefer to switch on a dim light for him. At least, he won't be complaining and disturbing my sleeping time. Have a nice weekend...

Hello myfb2009, yes children may prefer dim lights. Anyway dim lights may not affect my sleep. If there are guests, we turn on night lights for them .

Well, my direct answer to your question, is the segunete: Absolutely I can not sleep with the lights on!
Not that they bring me depression means, but give me really annoyed.
To sleep well and then rest better, I need the dark and the silence.
I must say that now that we are in summer, although the temperature factor, unfortunately, "play against" in the sense that the heat prevents me from falling asleep easily.

Hi alberello, I also need a calm atmosphere to have a good sleep. Lights during my sleep will definitely irritate me . We are now having rainy season and I feel more comfortable in my sleep .

When I was younger, I always asked to my dad to not turn off the lights of the hall. But, now that I'm older I never let any lights on because I just can't sleep. The light of the electronics already bothers me and I have to turn off all the electronics too and then I can have a good night of sleep.

Hi. No I cannot sleep with the lights on at all, even if I feel sick. The sounds must be very quite most of the time as well, I am a very light sleeper with a lot of trouble sleeping. If I'm lucky maybe a few times a month I will have uninterupted sleep for at least a few or so hours, without even getting up when there's some noise of some kind outside--not inside.
