Social media for harmony disruption of country

In a recent case of disruption of communal harmony of India, it was found that Pakistan targeted on 14 August to disrupt the peace and harmony of India with fake messages to people of North East living in Southern and West of India to flee to their own native place. And the dead line was given to them was 20th august or they would all be killed.
These rumors created much panic for all. They started fleeing as fast as they can, leaving the country disrupted on 15th august.
What you think social media is a power or is just a case where it can be used for as a means of cyber warfare as it is now being used by other nation.

I would say everything has its positive and negative sides. Social media plays the part of both power and cyber warfare depending on the people using it. I would applaud china in this case as ban any website which might impact their harmony.
