I'm burning up!

and my head hurts!
Am I sick? No, I'm just The Alien!
There are days when I might as well just take a lot of meds and stay in bed, except that gets to hurting too...
I wish, sometimes, I couldn't feel pain, but I don't really want to be dead, so I just get up and suffer.
I went out and was asked "how are you today?"
I can't say "fine" if I'm not, so I said "I have a headache, but not bad enough to keep me in bed."
I actually went to Church today - I was feeling better first thing this morning than later. That was nice and everyone was so glad to see me.
Oh, and we actually had a cool day, well, cool for Texas, I'm not sure we got to 90 - and if we did, it was only like the low 90's.
So, why am I burning up? Wish I knew...

I was gonna suggest hot flashes/flushes, too. One woman where I go for physio said she's been having them constantly for the past 12 years. She carries a folding hand fan on her belt...

I am always hotter than those around me, but if you take my temp it reads subnormal, often as not. I figure my body is cooler so the air around feels hotter. I have heard that it can also be a thyroid symptom, but for you, it may just be a side effect of the pain you are in. We are having the same temps you are outside and we are really enjoying the "cooler" weather.

That is so true!
Actually, my take is that you can only take off so much and still be legal!
They say that keeping lightweight clothes on is actually better - I will say that there have been times when I've taken a light weight shirt, wet it down (like put it in the sink and then wring it out) and put it on, doesn't make the humid air easier to breath, but does cool off the body.

Because of the heat, that is why you are burning up. To help you relieve with your dilemma, I suggest you take lots of water to hydrate yourself and lower your body temperature. You may also want to take a shower more than the usual times you do. That is how I make myself cool enough during scorching hot days.

you may have come down with a virus or something, fever is a sign that something is wrong in your body.

The woman I mentioned above said it was as a result of undergoing chemo.

You poor kid! I read the responses because this was written yesterday. I wanted to see if you're feeling better yet, and I guess you are a little bit.
It's hard to say what that was all about. Maybe your body was fighting something off without you even knowing it, other than feeling hot, but not feeling sick.
I know I have some shirts or blouses that I wear which make me very hot where the others are cooler. Sort of like different types of bed sheets. Does that make any sense? Sometimes sitting in a warm/cool tub of water will help to cool you down. It brings your body temp down.
Well, for the most part, maybe your dilemna is over for the moment. Glad you're feeling somewhat better.

I am feeling better. I agree that certain clothes and sheet can make you feel hotter, but I haven't even slept under a sheet except for a few times pulling it up all summer and I'm mostly wearing cotton or cotton blends (when I've got to look nice) since May - and not wearing my dark shirts either.

hiElicBxn i bet you are nearing heat exhaustion as that's the way it hits me.,its been hot here for 20 days near 100 with humidity
that won't let sweat cool you off. we had a pleasant July so now we are being punished i guess.Going to church often h elps me when initially I really did not want to go.glad its cooled a bit,Texas is known for being hot.here its the damned humidity that makes 95 to 100 seem like a steam bath I have had the air conditioner on in our room since noon as our room faces the Western afternoon sun and gets hot.I hope you are not running a fever a nd hope you get to feeling a lot better too.

I am feeling better today, don't know what was wrong yesterday. Still on the warm side, but not as hot as I was yesterday.
I avoid the heat so I really don't think it was heat exhaustion, especially since yesterday was the coolest day we'd had since early June!
I do know about humidity - we generally start the mornings in the high 70's with often 85-90% humidity. By afternoon the humidity often gets down in the 50-60% but the temp is often 100 - making heat indexes in the 105 range or higher.
Last summer it was like walking into a blast furnace! The mornings sometimes felt like a sauna with temps in the mid-80's!

It could be the weather. I know the summer weather does make me sick once in awhile! Working in a f*cking hot, badly ventilated kitchen doesn't help either!
Luckly most of Ausgust has been in the high 70's! Being in the 80's is normal! I love this type of weather! I would be sick all the time if I had to live in Texas! yuck!
If I don't drink enough water,I can make myself sick, especailly in the summer! Just some ideas.
