My personal involvement in Olympics

Honestly before especially when I was a kid, I don’t really care about this Olympics because I am not into sports not until I learned swimming lesson it makes me decide to watch Olympics especially the swimming competition. The opening and closing ceremony of Beijing 2008 Olympics was very impressive that is why I have no second thoughts that I want to watch it live and tune in on swimming competition. That was the only time I knew Michael Phelps especially for having 8 gold medals or always winning as a champion in swimming. I was impressed and inspired of him since I can relate to him a bit, that is why I have no second thoughts to avail his book that is “No Limits, The Will To Succeed” using my overtime paid money. I have decided that on next Olympics I will be active in tuning in and watch the next competition rooting for Phelps.
Now in London Olympics 2012 I became more active that I am even catch the update regarding the exact time of the event that will be held. Expecting much that the London Olympics would be like in Beijing Olympics but then it was still comparable to admit the fact that the Beijing 2008 Olympics ceremony was far better. As I am rooting for Michael Phelps and other swimmers, I was diligent enough to wake up early in the morning just to witness the competition. After watching the competition I will sleep a little while then wake up to go in the office. Honestly it makes me dizzy and always sleepy because I really lacked sleep everyday just because of my choice to watch the swimming competition. The other side that I don’t like about is that the other schedule of the swimming competition is the time that I am going home so usually I am on the way while the competition is going on. When the London Olympics had closed then I really felt sad as I am going to miss the event and wait again for next 4 years to witness this competition.

I would actually say that Beijing Opening Ceremony and the London Opening Ceremony were comparable in my opinion. The fact is that each country needs to showcase it's culture or it's embodiment in the opening ceremonies and both the hosts managed to do that. What was disappointing though was the closing ceremony at London. At Beijing the closing ceremony was equally spectacular, but the closing ceremony at London was just a musical journey and not nearly captivating as the opening ceremony.
Cheers!

Exactly the point it was like showcasing of the previous singers or even movies then some parts of it are not already relevant to the Olympics. Honestly the middle part of it is like a GIG in bars that I find it boring already. Okay find this is to give way for the athletes but then they weren't able to see some parts of the event. Just like Rebecca Adlington she was complaining on her tweets that they weren't allowed to enter when the One Direction performed. So what's the use? If they are performing the old times of song for the athletes.

The 2012 Olympics were definitely successful for Michael Phelps and American swimmers in general. It makes me wonder if Phelps will compete in the 2016 Games in Rio de Janiero, though. He says he will retire, but I think he will be 30 or 31 years old by then. We will have to wait and see.
It's great to know that someone has been inspired by the Olympics in some way. I know that's one of the things the athletes there hope to achieve: being an inspiration for others. I, being less motivated than you, was captivated by the Olympics like I am normally, but didn't do anything out of the ordinary because of them.

I think Michael is already decided that he will retire. Nevertheless he is still my swimming inspiration. and now I am waiting for another kind of book about him though unfortunately I haven't finish reading the "No Limits".
I am now being motivated to swim again but it could be only in my dreams that I can be great like Phelps. so ambitious of me.
