Wonders of the Bible

Many archaeologists have charged the Bible with inaccuracies concerning the facts of cities and districts and also with names of rulers and other people that lived during the times of the writers' lives. However, recent archaeological discoveries have confirmed many Biblical facts as accurate and discounted many of the difficulties that appeared to be inconsistent with known facts. One researcher ranks Luke, the writer of the Book of Luke and the Acts of the Apostles among the greatest historians of that period for his accuracy in details. I think science is just starting to catch up with many of the facts in the Bible, and true scientific discovery will be in harmony with the scriptures. What do you think about this?

Archeologists come and go. They are humans and are like flowers that are around for a short period of time and then fade away and die. What about the Bible, the word of God? Isaiah 40:6-8 KJV) 6 The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: 7 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the Lord bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. 8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. Time and again, all that have challe4nged the Bible have had to eat their words. We can have absolute confidence that everything in the Bible is the truth, unless wrongly translated. Read the Bible daily!

For me, the truth and details in this book never trouble me. What really matters is i can learn something and get some inspirations from it. I like reading bible. This book is full of so many unexpected things which are totally beyond my imagination. And this book is some sort of like one of chinese book. Confucius, a famous thinker, educater and politic, there is also a book whhich is written to collect his remarks with his apperentices. From his remaks, we also can learn many things. of course, compared to tha latter, Bible is more about weaster culuture and full of more contents which can't be surpassed by any other book.

I am not of any religion and have read some of the bible and I do think that some of it does come from historical facts. I do believe that there are some stories that have actually happened in similar or near by places as mentioned in the bible as many scriptures of other religions and even some tales that have been passed down from generation to generation from other cultures.

I believe the Bible is the true Word of God and that man is so far behind in archaeological discoveries of places and events that happened, but much of it has in fact been proven as archaeology has become more sophisticated, and the Bible also has described many scientific processes long before men made those discoveries. I respect your view, but hope you will keep an open mind and not discount the Bible as being just a bunch of stories.

The reason science made a research was to try to prove the Bible wrong. They cannot try to prove the things Jesus do is wrong or the miracles done by the apostle. So they try to prove Bible wrong by looking for artifact and places as describe by the Bible. To their surprise, they found out it is real. The mroe people try to prove the Bible wrong, the more difficult they will prove it and the more discoveries they will make. See the power of GOD our creator, how awesome and wonder HE is.

Yes, some are always trying to prove the Bible wrong by challenging what is presented in the Bible. Sooner or later evidence is discovered that they are wrong. The Bible has met every challenge, every opposer and has won every victory. Why? Because it is not the word of men, even though men wrote it, but it truly is the word of God. The wisdom in it is superior to anything man has come up with. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 King James Version (KJV) 13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

Regarding the challenge of Bible, too many people want to challenge it without trying to understand it. They only look at the wrongdoing describe in the Bible but fail to see what does it really meant. We see that a lot even in MyLot. How may discussion we saw title "Don't Trust The Bible" or something similar to that. We have time to look for fault but never had we try to had a time trying to look for learning point we should learn from Bible.

It is good to know that finally, they are able to find reasons to believe in the accuracy of bible. They always say that the two contradicts each other when in fact, before our scientists have learned about those facts, the bible already accounted them. Some of the examples are below: Water Cycle Ecclesiastes 1:7 Rivers run into the sea, but the sea is never full. Then the water returns again to the rivers and flows out again to the sea. Amos 5:8 He draws up water from the oceans and pours it down as rain on the land. Law of Gravity Job 26:7 God stretches the northern sky over empty space and hangs the earth on nothing. Life Span Psalm 90:10 The years of our life are seventy, or even by reason of strength eighty; yet their span is but toil and trouble; they are soon gone, and we fly away. Those are only few reasons why bible can be considered as accurate.

You are so right. Mostly the Bible's detractors are people who have not really looked into the Bible at all. Many atheists and scientists who have looked into the Bible with an open mind, even with the thought of using it's words to disprove it, have instead been converted when they find out how remarkable it truly is.

That is true. I have in fact talked to someone who won't believe in the bible. He keeps on saying that the bible is a big lie but when you asked him if he has already read it, he would just say that he can't read it PERIOD. It is really hard to deal with people who only listen to his own reasons and only believe in themselves. They think they are smart enough, and don't acknowledge the presence of God. But sooner or later, like what has happened to some of our great philosophers and scientists who are well known for their knowledge and wisdom, they will eventually learn that the bible holds the never changing truth.

The Holy Bible is the all time best selling book ever. This only proves of its divine inspiration. No matter what others says and do against it, for all to come, it will still and always be the only infallible Word of God. While it is true that there are "seemingly" contradictions or inaccuracies, they are just the results of incorrect translation, and copying errors.

I completely agree. The Bible has endured through time and numerous attempts to destroy it and banish it from the earth, but it is the only infallible Word of God and is forever settled in heaven, and I believe it will endure.

God reveals to the the world what he wants us to understand when the time is write, people have to realize this and so do scientists instead of trying to prove the Bible wrong they just need to pray and listen to God's word to know the truth.
