Is spanking okay with you to discipline your children?

hi bulastika! for me honestly i do not want that i will spank my children for a reason to discipline my children. honestly there are many ways to discipline a child like telling them that did something wrong my explaining them ,and there are many solution by not spanking them because if you are spanking them when they will be growing older they will become rebellion

i can never ever been spanked by my parents cause im a good boy.and as it to me,a last resort can not be some ways related to violence cuase i think they arenot better ways.

If spanking is the only way to discipline a naughty child, then I guess the parents have to do it. Disciplining your child has to be done as early as possible because when they grew up that way, it is hard for them to change. What I learned about being naughty is you have to remember that you aren't a child forever. When you grow older and came at the right age, when you do naughty things like eating food without asking permission, or just damaging other people's property, or just provoking someone to a fight, your parents cannot tell the police that you are just naughty. Since you are already in the right age, you will have to accept the consequences of your naughtiness. If you took something, you will be charged with theft. If you happen to provoke someone and hurted him, you will charged with physical injury. Your parents can no longer tell the police that you are just a kid and you don't know what you are doing and so they have to forgive you for that.

I've never spanked my kids. I just couldn't bring myself to do that. Through the years we used various discipline techniques, including the naughty room, star charts and the removal of luxuries. The naughty room was the bathroom where they would stay for one minute per year, ie when they were four they would stay for four minutes. The star chart was basically just a chart where they could get good stars for good behaviour and naughty stars for bad behaviour. If they had a certain amount of good stars per week, they were allowed extra TV time, game time, computer time or an outing to a place of their choice. Removal of privileges was things like less or no TV time nd computer time. Now that they're a bit older, we still use the removal of privileges, but also deduct pocket money or take away their cell phones for a day, depending on what they've done. On the whole, they are quite good and I think it's because we started disciplining early and they know that if we say we are going to do something, we will do it.

I disagree with using spanking as punishment. I believe there is always something else that will work. In my view spanking means that you have tried everything else and it didn't work so you give up and hit the kid to make yourself feel better.
