I recently bought a hula hoop set for my daughter. I'm hoping she'd learn it as early as now, so she won't be like me who never got to enjoy playing with one.
On the side line, I'm also hoping to use it for my exercises. It's good for the waist and hips. I'm going to learn it with my 4 year old. I don't know if its still possible for me, though.

Of course it is still possible for you to learn to use the hula-loop. I love hula-hoop because it help me to lose some weight and good for belly and butt exercise. Before I also do not know how to use it but my niece patiently taught me for how many days with non stop laughing, good thing after a week I learned it and I am very proud for myself and fro my niece for our great accomplishment. Goodluck

Really, it took a week?! It can be that challenging, huh.
I'm going to take it out again, and we'll try our luck with it.

I remember trying it as a child. I wasn't good at it so I would just move on to another activity. Then when I got to junior high and high school the hula hoop came up again. Believe it or not it was mandatory that we hula hooped in the gym during pe for at least 5 or 10 minutes. I graduated 5 years ago so I can't remember exactly how long. I made attempts but I've never been good at it. My coach on the other hand who was a 38 year old guy was EXCELLENT! We would hold small competitions at the gym and the person who could keep it up the longest would get a prize like, being able to skip exercise, first choice of item to play with, or something like a pack of pens ect. A lot of people just did it for the chance to compete and beat their friends. It was fun to watch.

Wow, how I wish this was an activity in our school, too. I think I've missed a lot of my childhood for not learning hulahoop.

Hhmmm..didn't think of it that way. I really had thought it was about rotation of the hips.

I love hula-hoops! Especially as I'm not usually good with any sports, but I have an inherent talent for hula hooping and it is sooooooo fun! Especially when you listen to some good music whilst doing it. And it is really healthy, either, makes you form your waist and lose weight!

Oh good for you. I bet you have a well-trimmed waistline. That's really what Im hoping to get aside from the fun it offers.

I have play hula hoop when I was in my elementary days. I love to play with my cousins and started to count how many minutes I can do it with out falling from my waist. I also tried playing it from my waist then having it goes up into my arms, and the feeling of doing it is so difficult. But I did not give up until I was able to do so. That was when I was still in my teens, now my kids play it and they ask me if I can still make. I am in my forty's, what I can do is just until my waistline.

Many people can play it well, but I can't , it's difficult for me. I tried many times but I still couldn't. It's really good for the waist, I admired the people who played it well.

I think it's really hard, and harder to be learning it when we're older.
I'm still going to try, though.
I saw a kid who joined a contest on tv, and she used more than 1 hula hoops, at once.
