Best Strategy to Cease Smoking

Philippines

In my field of work, I have been surrounded by heavy smokers. needless to say, i started to take on the habit. i started smoking occasionally, then it became habitually. then i thought of quitting. They say, it's difficult at first so one has to stop gradually. Some recommends smoking patches and some using vape. For me, i believe the best strategy there is is will power and discipline. You have to set your mind that you've got nothing to gain by smoking aside from health problems. As for me, I was able to stop smoking, not gradually but abruptly. Feel free to share your thoughts on this.

I think the best strategy to stop smoking is discipline. If you respect yourself and consider your health you can stop. Discipline is a kind of controlling yourself into that kind of vices. So set your mind and said I didn't smoke anymore because I don't get nothing but wasting time and money...

Yup! I agree with you, friend. Smoking is a waste of money and it is also dangerous to our health...

hi yes your absolutely correct , will power is the only thing which anyone needs to achieve something in ones life. when this is missing then no remedy can help our to comeout the weakness which we have. SMoking is not good for health this everyone are aware , however they also can not get rid of it becox it is the only thing which gives them some satisfaction so only they can not leave it. When the person he himself wants to leave then only it can be done, if not no thing can do anything.

Hello eynje and welcome to myLot. I tried several different times and several different ways to stop smoking. It wasn't until I fractured my tail bone that I was finally able to quit.First I was in the hospital for about three days. Not allowed to smoke. Then I was transferred to a physical therapy rehab center for about two and a half months that I really did quite. No smoking there either. Now for the real test is being home with two smokers. I haven't smoked since I got home. I have wanted a cig once in a while but since I don't drive any more I can't go to the store and the kids refuse to give me one of theirs.

I think the first thing is to not hang around those smokers , smokers are always encouraging others to try . Try to eat a gum or something when you feel the need to smoke . My gran father used to smoke and he used like mint sweets to help him quit .

I salute for having that will power and discipline to stop that kind of bad habit of ours. I guess if only all the smokers will also have the same disipline with you then Philippines will might become a lung cancer free country.

You are great ! You were able to discipline yourself , yes very true that is the will power. If we are determined to do something , we can always . But i am just bit nervous why you did abruptly . It should be done gradually , because id direct withdrawal you did , you are taking risk for that ! Human body is not like a machine where in it don't need to adjust , our body are adjusting to what is being given and withdrawn. But with the fact that you were able to cut smoking , am happy for you , you deserve an accolade for that.Keep it up !

thanks! :) well, i decided to quit abruptly because the more i smoke, no matter how little, the more i don't break the habit. i had to break the habit altogether. it took a lot of discipline though. i tried to get myself busy with other things so i won't even think about it. :)

You can't access willpower and discipline if you do not fix your subconscious views about smoking first. Meditation allows you to reprogram your subconscious so that the habit will not be repeated anymore.
