I would like to share a story that I found on YouTube. The story is from a program called Crimewatch and the topic of the story is drugmules.
A woman from Singapore met a man from Nigaria and they became a couple. Her boyfriend gave her lots of presents and took her out for expensive dinners. One night they met two of the man's friends - a man from Nigaria and a woman from Bangkok, and the 4 of them became friends. During the conversation the woman from Singapore mentioned that she wanted to visit Japan.
One day the woman from Thailand called her and told her and that she had a free ticket to Japan and she asked the woman from Singapore if she wanted to get the ticket. She said yes and travelled to Bangkok to meet her friend. Together they bought a new suitcase for her.
She got the free ticket and she travelled to Japan. When she arrived in Japan the staff at the airport examined her suitcase and they found several bags of cannabis in a hidden compartment in her lugguage. The woman got arrested for drug trafficking and had to spend some years in prison.
What do you think about the story? Have you heard other stories about people who were tricked into drug trafficking?

Yes, that is true. Some strangers are harmless, but it is important to be careful if we want to avoid that kind of situation. This woman trusted her African and boyfriend and his friends even though she didn't know his friends that well and they took advantage of that.

That is really sad! So was the man from Nigeria part of this whole deal? I mean I wonder if he knew anything about it. After all he was friends with people who trafficked...
I've not heard any stories about people tricked into it, but I know it must happen a lot more then we know.

Yes, her boyfriend from Nigaria was part of deal. He made it look like the meeting between his victim and his friends happened by coincidence, but it was no coincidence, the meeting was arranged because he needed the introduce them to eachother. When the woman from Singapore mentioned that she wanted to visit Japan they took advantage of the situation and made up the stoty about the free ticket. I feel sorty for the woman. She might have been a little naive since she just accepted a free ticket from someone she hardly knew, but she really had to pay the price for her mistake, because she was arrested and had to spend some years in prison.
