I do. I always like to have a memento, no matter how small, of my vacations. And I always brting a little something to my closest family, specially to my grandkids. They expect it, even if it´s a very unexpensive little something. Do you bring souvenirs for other people? Do you bring something for you to keep? Share.

As a general rule I don't but the in-laws have been known to bring us back (usually) hideous ornaments from various places around the world. I remember one time having to smile sweetly in front of the MIL as she insisted I open a present she got for me from Tenerife. I hate having to be put on the spot like that but I obliged, opened the box and inside was a clock in the shape of Tenerife, made out of the black lava on the island. Sounds lovely doesn't it? Well, it would've been lovely if it worked and the clock face wasn't protected by glass, showing the very flimsy hands and numbers.
Needless to say, it's now in landfill but it did take me a long time to pluck up the courage to bin it off, as I didn't want to upset hubby of course. However, I think he's relieved it's gone as well.
I do have a dolphin ornament off them that I actually like and that's displayed on the windowsill in the kitchen as the jewels in its belly reflect the light..so I'm not a cow all the time lol.

I know what you mean. Even if you like the presents, maybe you don´t have the place to put it. That´s why I buy small things for the kids and small things such as key holders or fridge magnets for the rest. They can always lose it Right?

I always try to pick up souvenirs for each of my kids; I always buy postcards to remind me of places I've visited. If possible, I like to pick up souvenirs for some of my co-workers too. Giving small travel momentos is my way of expressing that people are important to me and I think about them even when we are apart.

I used to buy postcard, but now I can get much better pictures with my digital camera so I just bring my pictures back. When I worked, I always bought a little something for my co-workers. Now I bring something for some of my friends, but only if I find something that they will really like.

It doesn´t have to be a big present, I think. Just a little something to tell them that you remembered them.

No, I don't have such practice. If I go for vacation I used to take photographs and I will update the photo album and video shoots. I have the photos of all the time that I visited for the last 15 years and 8 years of videos.

I also take photos. Years ago, I also bought postcards because the pictures I took were not very good. Digital cameras have helped as you can take several pictures until you like one.

Yes, all those days were gone. It was a great time that the rare photos were framed and kept in rooms on windows. And later on we started using albums and now all become more flexible to keep in computers and not even print and keep. However, I have colledted all the b/w photots and the old other colour photos whichever available and scanned and kpet as not it can be protected and won't get damaged by time.

I have several old family pictures that were scanned too.I´d like to slow down my addiction to mylot so that I can scan and save all the photos I have in albums and place them in my computer.

I always bring presents to my grandchildren, but just a small souvenir for me. It seems that my house is too cluttered with what I have bought everywhere.

Yes I always bring something from my vacation tour or even pilgrimage places. Some toys of that place or books for children or even for me is a must.

Yes I can't go home without souvenirs for my loved ones and friends. It is like committing a big sin when I go home without something for them. Whenever I travel, shopping not just for myself but even for my loved ones and friends is my top priority. It could be either delicacies, wallets, bags, household kits or whatever things that will make them happy.

I do always like to bring home a little something from every place that I visit on a vacation. These are typically little things that I can collect. In addition to that, when I am going on a major trip (for example my trip to Europe when I was a teenager), I did bring home a little something for all of the people that are important to me.
However, I really have to say that the best souvenirs that I've ever had from any vacation is the pictures that I bring home that were taken during the trip.

I know what you mean. And I love to take pictures with someone in it, such as anyone I´m going with or myself. When there´s only background, however beautiful, I feel I´ll forget where it was taken.

Hi,
I always make it a habit to bring a small, flat stone from places I visited:mountain, beach or underwater. Then, I would label them, date and place, and place them on a shelf or on my table as paperweight. It would always remind of the adventures I had while there.

I only buy useful things for me now ( a shirt or blouse or a mug), but I take lots of pictures. I do like to bring small presents to the family and close friends though.

Yes, I do. I try to find something small that represents the place I visit. I choose small items so that I can have them all together in a locker. I buy other stuff too, but these are just for my collection. I also buy something for my friends.

I also choose small items that can get into my suitcase. I`m trying to buy little useful items for family, except for the youngest grandchildren who expect something to play with.

I know. Many of the gifts I buy are dollar gifts or even less. I even collect pebbles or shells to give to some of my loved ones. My second grandson used to collect coins and I´d save the smallest coins for him.

I usually get a costume doll for my collection. As you know I bought a few costume dolls in Chile. Later on my wonderful trip I bought a Brazilian costume doll made out of paper mashe. When I was in Romania I bought a doll carved out of wood. My costume doll collecting started in 1990 with a little costume doll from Finland.
When I was in St Lucia in the Caribbean at age 19 years my mom and I got talked to by a man making things out of palm tree leaves. We bought a pot and it is still around today. At the time we got it in 1991 we didn't imagine it was going to last.
I collect model houses from different countries and I have a small collection of these including a Swiss chalet, a wooden cottage from Poland and an a cottage teapot from my home country.
I usually get my mom a t-shirt and my sister some fridge magnets. I like the doll you got in St Maarten my dear friend.

I love to give small presents to my loved ones as much as, I must say, I love to receive a token of love, no matter how small it is. I remember that there was a time when I took care to save some coins from different countries for one of my grandson who was collecting them. This time I bought things for my grandchildren, for my daughters, for Leticia and for my oncologist.

Most of the time I will buy a tshirt or something I might wear or use like a purse. A lot of times things like that are far more colorful than getting something here and it is usually hand made by locals and sold by the maker so that makes it nice. When I did go places I didn't really have anyone that I wanted to buy things for so I only bought for myself. Have a great week!!!

Yes I do. It does not matter how inexpensive it is. It the thoughts that counts as they say. And it makes the recipients feel that you are still thinking of them even you are enjoying yourself with others. It makes one feel that friendship is treasured.

I do like to have some memories of our trip or vacation...I would not want to spend much, so I try to get something or the other on which I can lay my hands on which are cheap and affordable and yet have great value...For me personally it is the value that counts no matter what price the souvenir or momento is....i get it for others as well, i like to share some...it is great fun.

Always! I don't think my family would be happy if I went to another country and don't bring anything for them in the return, especially my sister. Actually, this is one part of the trip that I spend a lot of time, choose the presents for my family and friends!

i only bring souvenirs for my family, best friends and loved ones. I don't really like bringing souvenirs because it sometimes attracts jealousy among my friends, not that i hope for but i don't feel right if i bought one for a friend but not the others. So i only give to only the people that i really love :D

I try to bring a little something for all the people nearest to my heart. Of course, the smaller children get the best presents.
