Adebayor has completed his transfer to Tottenham after they agreed to a 5 Million deal with Man City. Apparently Adebayor agreed for a pay cut to fit into the Tottenham wage bill. Also two Tottenham players moved out with Dawson moving to QPR and Bassong moving to Norwich City.
So do you think Tottenham are now ready for a top - 5 finish or do they need to add more names in the team?
Cheers!

I think Andre Villas Boas will do a great job at Tottenham, but because he is a coach which has a special philosophy, he needs time and the players he wants. If he will be treated as he was at Chelsea, both by the owner( or officials) and by the stars players, then he will fail. If he will be able to make himself respected, then Tottenham will have a great team in the years to come, but like I said, at least a half season is needed in order to make this.

Actually after seeing AVB at Chelsea, I am not so sure. I think man management is a key aspect of any managerial job and he really failed at that in Chelsea. It might just be that at Porto where he was successful, he did not have any strong personalities to deal with which he had to at Chelsea where he could not cope with. At Spurs he will again face a lot of strong personalities none more than his new signing Adebayor who has a habit of getting boorish after one good season.
Cheers!

To a certain extent I agree with your comment. But look at the way Di Matteo has handled the same lot. And this season the way Chelsea has started in the first two matches is nothing less than spectacular. The kid Eden Hazard has really lit up the first two matches of EPL.
Cheers!

Yes, but a manager can be strong only if he has the full backup from the officials of the club, and I think AVB hasn't got this at Chelsea. Because if Abramovich would have stood up for him, then he would have had the authority needed in order to control the locker room. We will see how he will handle Adebayor or van der Vaart, but players which have strong personalities.

Adebayor will certainly give a strength for Spurs.
But in my opinion, the one that made Spurs finished in top 5 couple seasons ago and made them fight in UCL is Redknapp.
I still can't trust in AVB fully. He still need to prove his ability in other club. Unlike Mourinho, who seems to be able to get close to his players and made them motivated. Beside the facts that he has mostly star players around him.
If your players didn't listen to you. Then it means over.

I tend to agree with eric that AVB is still an unproven entity at this level. Of course, Chelsea was a low point. But again the start of the season, Tottenham is just about tottering. A few more results not going his way and he would again be on the docks.
Cheers!

Actually I was also surprised by the fact that they let go of Dawson. It might be injury concerns which might have led to this move or it might just be that AVB prefers different players. Bassong was anyhow a on and off player, so his moving was not such a major surprise for me.
Cheers!

Now Mancini is feeling better with Adebayor out of the way. But if Adebayor can re-produce the form like he did last season while on loan at Tottenham, especially when in the two games against Manchester City in the coming days, the selling of Adebayor to Spurs may well be Mancini's biggest regret if it means losing the championship!
Ledley King retired and Michael Dawson left for QPR. That usual central defender partnership has finally called it a day. I always have a soft spot for Spurs. I like them in the early 1980's when they won 2 FA cups with Glenn Hoddle, Osvaldo Ardiles, Ricky Villa, Chris Hughton, Steve Perryman, Tony Galvin, Steve Archibald... they were exciting to watch.

Despite being an Arsenal fan, I have liked Tottenham under Redknapp. But now, with AVB taking over, I am not sure about my loyalties about Tottenham. Also regarding Mancini regretting Adebayor I am not so sure. Of course, he will not miss Adebayor up front, but yes his defenders would be tested by Adebayor, but he is a hit or miss player who on his day can destroy any defense and on any other day just not be seen on the field!!
Cheers!

Yes, Adebator to Totthenham Hotspur Transfer to permanent status is the end of the loan period to several European clubs such as Real Madrid to Manchester City. And now he can rest easy because it has gone from City without bond again. However, Spurs lose 2 players to go to another club.
I think Spurs can get the big 5 if their performance as last season with the incumbents, but if you present a different opinion after seeing the results of two earlier matches Spurs.

good luck to him! Tottenham is a suitable destination for him. But I personally dont believe that Tottenham are now ready for a top 5 finish, I think Newcastle has higher chance
