When is a white lie acceptable?

We generally prefer the truth from the lie, but then again I also believe that what we do not know won't hurt us. Therefore, for me it is such a thin line that makes white lies acceptable. Our life is so complicated that white lies sometimes spare us from the hurtful detail while keeping us informed with the partial or essential truth. It's a tricky one though, the circumstances and the objectives behind the white lie are all factors to make it valid or not.

I believe that a white lie is acceptable in times where the situation calls for it. A white lie should benefit the person you are saying it to and not only yourself. There are other times where white lies are just scape goats though. We tend to choose to easy way out of things.

The hardest thing to accept is always the truth.
Truth always hurts.
White lie is still a lie no matter how we justify the means.
I agree that there are certain lies that we must do to save someone.
I am not in any position to judge those who lie for the sake of others.
but for those who tell a lie to save their-selves is another case.
Lies can either save or break a relationship.
Lie can save a life and it can even kill.
Before telling a lie- one must be responsible for whatever consequences it may give.
Which I doubt-...when things went wrong, who wants to accept thy fault?

Hi,
we all know that it's not fair to tell lie. We always live on the principle of the truth. we should be honest in our life. But sometimes we have to hide the truth for the goodness of someone. So we have to tell lie means white lie as it is not for deceiving or cheating someone. Truth has the thorns as roses. But we can not hide the truth forever.
