Cheteshwar Pujara made a fantastic comeback to the Indian team with an unbeaten century in the first test against New Zealand. In doing so he helped India reach a comfortable 309/5 by end of play on day 1. I was really impressed by Pujara's application and his nerveless display on a big day when he takes over Rahul Dravid's coveted no. 3 spot. What do you say, this augurs well for Indian Cricket? Cheers! Ram

It's nice to see Cheteshwar Pujara on his come back making a century, now with 307/5 India should at least reach 400 and they try and bowl New Zealand below that ... Let's see how this match turns out to be ...

Not only was it good to see him hit the ton, it was more satisfying to see him go on to a big one with a 150. Cheers! Ram

Cheteshwar Pujara does have the technique to stay there in the longer format of cricket. However, his real test would be in Australia, England or South Africa whenever India goes there again.

I agree. That is where Dravid earned his reputation and that is where Pujara would need to earn his reputation. Cheers! Ram

Pujara batted well and used the golden opportunity he got. He really played well, he may get a sure spot in Indian test team.

Yeah it is a good sign for Indian cricket after VVS retired and he needs that performance, because we all know he played and playing well in ranjis and BCCI expected a good cricket from him and he got very few chances before but he failed in those, Now he proved. If he will perform well in this series BCCI will consider him for the next few series also. yeah he has set for the first down position.

I think Pujara is more a replacement for Dravid than Laxman. I think Kohli is more like a replacement for Laxman. We now need a left handed replacement for Dada. Unfortunately, so far neither Raina nor Yuvi have fitted the bill. Cheers! Ram

Yes, really it is a fantastic comeback. His play relieved me that the India's cricket future is same as the youngster like Pujara now itself are performing and serving the well. India has also beaten the newzealand in under 19 world cup..
