I have friends who are black, hispanic, etc. There are good people in every race.There are bad people too. Someone once said, "You are supposed to be safe everywhere you go!" People have to be alert to eveything and everyone. A female I knew in jr. high and high school was murdered one week before she graduated high school. The guy was caught and sentenced to 60 years. You cannot let one discussion get to you. You cannot let people and what they say to you get to you. Focus on your life, those who matter to you, your business, God and Jesus, too. Be kind to everyone and also watch everyone around you. You never know who will be good and who has bad intentions toward you. Skin color does not matter. What is in peoplse haerts does matter.

People that are evil or with bad intentions are everywhere and it transcends race and age even gender and like you said we should not judge based on just this things because people may look harmless outside but are dangerous inside and you are right we should focus on what is vital to us God, Family, Friends and people we need and just be cautious of others and always avoid turning your backs away from people you do not trust or you think you can trust.
