If you eat this , you will never lose weight. (a rant)

I heard this as I flipped From Dr. Oz to another channel. I believe he was talking about pizza. I thought wow! If a doctor told me this , I would say ok then I won't lose weight! What is so sad that many will not eat this certain food and then omit the next thing too and soon what are they eating, What? Just lettuce? I'm a little weird. I am not looking to be a size 0. I have always been in shape, round. The funny thing is I have lost weight. How? I didn't stop eating pizza! I just exercised more and ate less often. Did I try to lose weight? No! It just happened. It still seems so sad how many people stop eating what they love. Your thoughts.

It's a load of BS if you ask me. I lost some weight too and I was eating pizza, you just got to know when to stop eating and to just get some excersise. And really what is bad about the pizza? It has vegetables on it, a bit of cheese is good for you and the base is very thin so why should we stop eating pizza?

Well there are many types of pizza. Me? I like a thicker crust and instead of veggies I like pepperoni. But sometimes I like a margarita, it is a thin pizza with tomato and basil and cheese. That's it!

He might have something there. It is due to the cheese (plus if you add any extra toppings which I normally don't if I get it out, but if I make it at home I'm guilty on splurging on more such as spinach, mushrooms, broccolli, and etc.) and the carbs in the dough, most likely. I just eat it and don't worry about it. If you eat maybe one piece at one sitting you won't have to worry about the weight but I have known some people who like to eat three or more at once, or even a whole pie. My limit is two pieces, used to have only one when I was "dieting", but that never lasts for long.

hi sarahruthbeth our diabetes educators tell us do not cross off the foods you love just be more careful of portions. portion control for diabetics helps them control their blood sugar., I never have bought that idea of eating only rab bit food as our good health needs a variety of foods, not cutting out everything but lettuce, thats silly.exercise more and do not pig out on anything.round is good but rubbery blubbery is not good as it leds to type2 diabetes. too many fat cells stop insulin in its job of esc orting sugar into ou r muscle cells where it is needed and instead dumps it all into our blood instead where it is not needed.

My doctor wants to see me in 3 months with 4kilos less (around 8 pounds). He told me to eat a little less and to walk 10 blocks every day. I´m trying, but this week has been the kind of week with nice visitors every day. I tend to eat more when I´m not alone.

People get fat most beacause they eat too much food, they just can't resist delicious food. I know a girl , she likes all kinds of delicious food, especilaly meat and candy, but she is very very thin, about 40kiloes, because she eats them but doesn't eat much.

As much as we all hate it - it still is eat less and exercise. BUT I don't think you have to eat less often - in fact I think you should eat more smaller meals. But to cut out any one kind of food is nonsense. Even dieters should cheat on whatever diet they're on, it's your reward. Just don't eat an entire pizza, but a couple of slices. Of course, maybe I've been lucky, maybe there are people who do have to eliminate something from their diet in order to lose weight but I doubt it's the majority!

I'd be ranting too. Pizza covers ALL FOUR FOOD GROUPS!!! As long as it's not baked in a ton of grease, what can be wrong? Grain = Crust Veggies = sauce and some toppings Meat = toppings Dairy = cheese I don't know what the hell they're thinking!

I have watched many episodes of Dr Oz and have never heard him say don't eat pizza. One episode he was making pizza with vegetables and a whole grain crust. Its likely if you heard it, then he was probably talking about pizzas at pizza places. Home made pizzas can be made low in calories and fat. If you take a look at the number of calories in a meat lovers pizza from a pizza place most people would go over their calories in a day eating pizza.

That is my whole point. I don't count calories. I really don't care about fat , Plus there is No way I would even try to make a pizza at home. I'm not Italian! It wouldn't come out correctly. So the dear Dr can say whatever he wants , I will not follow it.

Wow yes there are always people out there who will say you cant eat this or that and how certain foods are miracle diet foods. I think the key is to eat in moderation and eat healthy. But another very important thing is exercise like you said. I have tried to exercise more but I just dont have much motivation. I have cut back on the amount of food I eat and the types of food I eat. I try not to eat much junk food and eat more fruits and vegetables. I definitely will not stop eating pizza though haha.

I walk a lot at work and that is my best guess why I lost the weight. I wasn't trying to. I eat junk food and I will still eat what I like.

I will not only eat salad , I love variety and I dont put weight on . The only think can make you not lose wight is if your metabolism is too slow . Eat food that will jump start your metabolism and you will be fine no matter what you eat unless you have a history of obesity . Yes it is sad that some people would stop eating something they love .

I am a size 2, and I eat the foods I enjoy. I don't enjoy greasy fast food or most heavily processed foods. I enjoy real food with real flavor. It is insulting to say those of us who are thin don't eat what we enjoy or that we subsist on lettuce. Dr. Oz does not tell people not to eat pizza. If you would have stuck around for the entire segment, you would know that. He has talked about healthier variations on the typical pizza--as can be seen from the show's website.

I didn't say size 2 are starving themselves . I'm saying a woman who should be a size 6 thinks she needs to be a size 2 is dieting to get there. I am not going to stay after that first sentence! I rather eat all the food you don't like. I will continue to eat fast food and the pizza the way I like it. He was about to tell me not to eat pizza the way I like it. No, I'm glad I left. And it is better for me to leave because all I get is upset. I just assume Dr Oz isn't talking to me.

I believe that there is nothing bad as long as you eat the right amount the you do the equivalent exercise to lose weight. But if you are really determined to lose weight, then you would strictly stick to your diet plan and avoid food that will break it. Because when you are in a diet plan, a simple mistake can ruin what you have sacrificed from the start. So just stick with your diet plans.

Sacrifice and food should Never be put in the same sentence! i never diet, I eat. If a doctor told me Not to eat pizza, I wouldn't eat period! so in a few days I would die and I Still rather die eating what I want than live a long life Never being able to eat what I want.

I still eat whatever I want to and whatever I love but sometimes I have my concerns. I often wonder, what are we allowed to eat? It seems like the new age, politically correct community only wants us to eat fruit, vegetables and grains. I can see where some pizza might be good for you. You can make a healthy pizza.

I am not a rabbit! Give them that salad. I am not eating it! I am not new age when it comes to food and I Never will be. Back in the day I wanted a shirt that said I want my Polysorbate 80, it is a additive that was/is used to make ice cream.Maybe it is because I would feel sick if I had to eat breakfast. I Never eat veggies and I love pizza , the "unhealthy" type.

I had a very wise doctor tell me once that you have to eat the things you crave..in moderation of course our you will gourge yourself on them and end up gaining instead of losing....so treat yourself to what you want...staying away from it is defeating your purpose....it will make you go the other way!

I don't usually put wise and doctor in the same sentence but in this case they go well together! I agree 100% My mom would say you better go eat what you are craving before the baby comes out looking like it! In other words you will start to obsess over that dish.

I know that there is an "unhealthy" weight for certain heights and stuff like that but I think that it is taken way too far. People are not made the same..they are not supposed to be...and to say that everyone has to be within a certain weight to be healthy and or attractive is crazy. The insurance company that handles our medical insurance at work held in house check-ups and they were required to stay on the insurance. People came out of there looking devastated. I wondered why and one guy said they had told him he was obese. OK..well..he was healthy..but far from obese. I was shocked that they had told him that. I have to say that I too believe in the quality of life and being able to enjoy certain foods is part of that. Your right..you really don't have to deprive yourself of everything you enjoy to lose weight and if you do, your "healthy" weight may be a bit different than someone elses.

To receive your insurance you had to have check ups , At Work? Yikes! I think if a doctor said I was obese I would just stand up and walk away.I think I did more with the last doctor I saw said she wanted me to lose weight and I just gave her a look. I didn't say a word. Years later my mom said I say many a things with that type of look. So I didn't know it then but I must have said "Shut up B!tch!"

Yea..it was just a basic screening. Kept us from having to go to the doctor and pay for it if they came there and did it. I was irritated about them calling out obese when the guy just looked average. If he was any less, he would have looked ill. It's a double standard really. You can't win..lol. The thing that made it worse was the people doing the screening didn't exactly look like the picture of health either if we were going by their standards.

You are right, since almost everything that we eat today has little of this and that which doctor says not good for our health. Then we will end up eating ...in our imagination- lols. Proper diet and exercise is good for our health. A little more sugar, carbs and dairy won't hurt if one knows how to control and exercise daily.

I have never heard of never losing weight from eating pizza. Now I am not saying anyone should it everyday for breakfast lunch and dinner. Then I would agree with the dr. That goes for anything. I need to stay away from those foods only because of my diabetes. Otherwise I would be eating it. And after all, when it comes to fast food, pizza is one of the healthiest.

Well, I heard it from doctors and I also saw that on TV. They do say that out of all the fast food we consume, pizza is the healthier choice. After all, it is dough, tomato sauce and cheese. Unlike McDonald's where we don't really know what we're eating. Nice!!!. But again, eating anything in excess is no good for anyone.

The crux of matter is whether you eat certain food in the right amount or not.If we all belive Dr.,we will have nothing to eat.I doubt if the the Dr.who is opposed to people eating pizza does as he said.Maybe he is a pizza lover.

Our new diets divide foods for each blood type into beneficial, neutral, or avoid. Since we are different blood types, it makes life interesting. We each have a variety of foods to pick from, many of which we enjoy. Both of us are even allowed a bit of sugar and chocolate. We are encouraged to eat many short meals rather than three large ones, and the biggest is supposed to be breakfast. Certain foods, like poultry are OK for both of us, but beef and bison are beneficial for him and I'm supposed to avoid them. Salmon is good for both of us. Neither of us is hungry, but I do wish tomatoes and peppers weren't on my avoid list. I'm glad we are encouraged to occasionally cheat. Good pizza is something I would cheat for. I didn't like having to cheat tonight. Our anti-Agenda 21 group attended a meeting tonight where the Delphi technique was being used on us, and afterwards we went to a Mexican restaurant to debrief. That meant we had to order something. I don't really like Mexican food because I don't like spicy. What I do like has things like beef and tomatoes and cheese, which are on my avoid list. To top it off, I wasn't really hungry. But we needed to order something to be there, so I ordered scrambled eggs (which are OK), pancakes, which are not, but they were a team on the menu, and they came with salsa and potatoes (on my avoid list.) I gave the salsa to my husband, for whom it was legal, but neither of us was supposed to eat potatoes. What I hate is violating my diet for foods I really don't enjoy that much. I would rather have had pizza. I used to be able to eat anything and never gain a pound. Then I turned 35. Boom! The pounds started to gradually appear, even though I did a lot of walking. I managed to stay about 140 until I retired from the exhibiting at homeschool conventions. That involved a lot of physical labor on and off. After moving here, I didn't do as much walking as I did before, so the pounds kept increasing. I'm beginning to drop a few of them now, but I know I need to spend less time in meetings and at the computer and walk more. Now that the weather is getting a bit cooler, I hope to increase the walking.

My first meal is usually eaten around 4pm and it is huge. then I may have a snack around 10pm. But if the meal is big enough, I will only have it. As long as you get to eat what you want to eat I'm happy. Hearing Anyone who isn't poor avoiding what they Want to eat makes me sad.

For me eating a big breakfast works well. I'm not hungry when I wake up, either. But I have the luxury most days of being able to lie in bed a bit after I wake up, thinking, half dreaming, or listening to the radio. By the time I really get up and get my breakfast made, I'm very hungry. If I'm not, I eat less. My normal breakfast is 500 calories, and I eat it about 10AM. It holds me until about 3 PM, when we have our main meal of the day. For dinner I graze, eating leftovers or fruit and nuts -- unless we are out. And, as I said, when we are out, I do eat some avoids. I had a hamburger two days in a row when we had to eat out, and I even had a Pepsi on one of those days. Everyone is different, which is the whole point of the Eat for Your Type Diet. My husband, a Type O, can eat most of what you like and it's good for him. I'm a type A and poultry, beans, and nuts are better for me. So is tofu, but I don't buy it very often. I'd rather each fish, which I should have often. I still enjoy what I eat. I also would enjoy some of what might be harder for my body to digest. I do allow myself two pieces of Dark Chocolate Cherry Almond Clusters I get at Costco. Almost everything in them are legal for me and my husband. I have become addicted to the stuff.
