a friend just gave birth C-section.. and we all know she does not have money..we were all worried for her. Plus c-section here is very expensive - up to 60,000 pesos! Though she do have Philippine Health Insurance, it wont still cover all the costs..
so some friends and officemates..we all decided to help. I offered to buy a big pack of newborn diapers and a friend also went and buy milk for the baby too and we also went to look for available blood as she is in need of blood right now too. Her blood type is A+ and most often that is scarce.. good thing my friend who gave milk too said his sister works in the National Red Cross..so we are all helping her. I just hope she will recover fast as she also lost a lot of blood.

Well she was feeling the pain around 1pm in the morning and the nearest hospital she could go was that hospital...
plus the public hospital here spells..d.e.a.t.h... and i am not kidding. I personally seen the place and the women who just gave birth lay in bed, 2 ladies in one bed..

2 Ladies in one bed! Oh my, that is indeed a dangerous way to give birth.

I hope she has a good recovery as well.
It is so hard when medical issues are compounded by money issues. It makes what is already difficult even more stressful.

true, when you are having some medical problems and you are also faced with financial problems, it feels like the world is against you

Its good to hear from us filipinos helping one another. Though we dont really expect something for exchange, God really bless this kind of people who would always be there for someone else. Simple help means much of course for the people that you've just help. If only people have only this mentality, Philippines could have been better. :)

It is so nice to hear from you. We are real friends when we prove ourselves in need. Was it a civil hospital where your friend had C-section? coz in my area it is totally free of cost in civil hospital. Hope both mom and kid are fine.
Have a nice time.

Nope she was in a private hospital where she can be taken cared of well. The public hospital here really is bad.

So it means, she's not supposedly going thru such operation?
When she's not ready for the C/s op, then probably they are not ready with the expenses too.
That really means crisis on their behalf.
Your friend is lucky to have friends like you and other colleagues who did a great help.
C/S is really expensive , wish you friend is in good condition now

Yes i was not able to visit her last night as i was so tired and had to see my kids.. but i will today as we leave early from work...
Yes she is not ready for the operation, when she was ultra sound a few months ago it was fine but when she was ultrasound again at her due month, the baby was not in the right position, instead of the head ready below.. it was above and cannot be born normal way

You are all good friends indeed. I hope your friend recovers soon. I believe that your help will have a long way to support her needs at the moment. I know how costly it is for a mother to give birth it is not only expensive but is life threatening as well.
With you around her I think she is pretty secured and happy that she has good friends like you ready to help her.

I sure hope so..as our help is not that big but somehow how we pray it made a difference. She is currently still at the hospital and figuring out how to pay the bills they need to pay.

Your friend is lucky to have you. That is so true, C-Section operation is very expensive. I gave birth thru CS too and it costs us almost 50,000 pesos, the Philhealth discount already slashed. I am just thankful me and my son was okay and I also got money from SSS after 2 months.

It's such a god deed to help a friend. She's lucky to find a good circle of friends like yours. For sure the couple is very grateful of all your concerns. I know it will return to you in many folds. Keep up that good virtue friend.

She's so lucky to have you guys for friends. Your mere presence is enough but the stuff your brought for here will definitely be put to good use and very much appreciated. I'm sure that despite the costs and hardships her operation and childbirth caused, you all made it more memorable.

why do you want to have a c-section?
do not be scared, it is different for every lady my friend. I have three kids and all were by normal birth..i would always say it is better to give birth the normal way my friend, you will feel it is all worth it.
